Yes, I personally use all of the features I mentioned. The geofence and speed alerts are buried under the parental controls button, the others are easy to find. It’s with the paid subscription only, though.
It’s a lot more than that. Can locate my car- used it when leaving a football game because I had no idea where I parked. Can see if there are any DTCs lit, check fuel, oil life/maintenance minder, mileage. Can set a geofence and get alerted if it exits (I do this when dropping off at my...
I pay for Honda link and there’s no driver feedback on the FL5. The data sharing and modem is for remote commands to know if door is open, hood popped, unlock, etc. I posted a screenshot earlier. I wish it had driver feedback option so I could see what my mechanic did with my car recently.
For those who don’t want to watch the video- 4awg welding cable with crimped 3/8” ends, one foot in length, to upgrade your ground cable. It can’t hurt to upgrade your ground, but you won’t notice a performance increase.
Car audio people know about the “Big 3” wiring upgrade (the two main ground...
Go for the Mishimoto. It seems a lot less the Radium tanks leak at center gasket, and people are using RTV sealant to stop the leaks. I haven’t seen any posts about leaks on the Mishi yet.
And correct- same designed part. That and the valve cover gasket are prone to leaks and have been for years...
Perfect experience.
Navigation is enabled because I use the compass on the gauge cluster, disabling it removes that.
100%, I use wireless and not wired and it’s always connecting with zero issues.
Zero hiccups, ever.
Very common with FK8s, and several with this on FL5. As more people put miles on the cars, it will likely be more abundant. Same with the valve covers leaking.
You can change engine sound in individual drive modes to comfort and you won’t have any pumped in sounds. No need to rip anything out. This has no impact on the exhaust valve opening or closing, it’s legitimately just the artificial sounds from engine.
Remember; only enthusiasts use these forums. The numbers are likely MUCH larger, and will only increase as these cars become more common. The shame is that it was a known issue in FK8 days and the designs were not improved to mitigate these issues.
The tank and valve cover are the same issues from the FK8. I’ve seen approximately 10 different people with the coolant reservoir leaks on the Facebook groups, and about five people with the valve cover leaks, too.
coolant reservoir leak is obvious if you check out the back mounting bolt area...
Valid point! Those with issues are the most vocal, but it seems like not a lot of people even inspect their valves because they have this assumption that Honda’s don’t have this problem. So the problems could be there but not enough are tearing down to inspect. Kind of a quagmire!
if I ever get...
Changes:
More robust coolant tank that doesn’t leak
More robust valve cover that doesn’t leak
Access panel in splash guard for oil changes versus the eight fasteners to remove the splash guard
Homelink mirror from factory
Actual TPMS
There’s no driver feedback for the FL5 on Honda Link in the US. So you can’t see trips or speeds. I think we’re okay. Accord, CRV owners, etc have to worry. Driver feedback would be a button on bottom of app- we don’t have it.
I have same exhaust and just checked, mine does not have any noises. The shop is on crack because the Track does not have a muffler, the Touring does.
It sounds like metal on metal contact, so I’d bet they didn’t properly check clearances or didn’t tighten a clamp up.
Low profile Race Ramps with the low approach extensions work well for me. I’m stock height and use a creeper, and still have room to do whatever. Here’s a pic of one ramp and one extension.
