Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. I'm generally a lip spoiler fan, but wow, this thing is fugly as sin.

It’s heavily influenced by the German, but could have been better if it’s slimmer at each end.

Nevertheless, it’s still looking better than the HPD version or the wing spoiler IMO.

Is the RS version equivalent to the Audi RS models?
No, the RS of Honda means Road Sailng, first appeared on the 1974 Civic RS. It means the car is smooth like sailing on land, a strange Japanese interpretation of smooth driving experience.

Honda starts using the badge again back in 1998 on facelift civic sedan as a higher trim level with unique interiors and exteriors.

Basically the RS is equivalent as Touring in North America, but typically come with unique seat cover and bodykit.
