Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

I don’t even have a chance of getting one… i was too late … but I would put a deposit down for a MY 2025 in a heartbeat … I much prefer the FL5 to the ITS… even tho no hate at all for the ITS… sweet car too

My GM seems to think there will also be a MY26 for the FL5. Hes mentioned this a few times to me, havent seen it anywhere else.

Maybe as the chip shortage and other produdction issues are dealt with Honda might increase overall production.

Honda Australia already had an increase … its not only shortage and all…. Honda Canada doesn’t seem to want more car… or are not working hard enough to get more… why Australia and not us ?

Honda probably produces more left hand traffic CTRs (since Japan drives that way) so easier to allocate units to Aus. Seems like they're pushing NA towards the ITS as a workaround.

more markups there too. especially for US.
they are charging a lot (50k USD) for what is a domestic car with a Japanese badge.
at least the price increase from CTR is somewhat worth it here given the long list of things ITS gets due to it being more of a street car.

yess 100% Honda Canada is the issue, the difference from being a rare car to an extremely rare car, it almost impossible to get an FL5 in Canada, it was way easier to get a Fk8 between 2017-2020

Well it was possible… for 600 buyer a year ago… and they don’t take new reservations for the rest of the product life… so yeah… its NOW impossible. Lets hope it will change…

I myself do have a DP + Bill of Sale from a dealership almost a year ago but still can’t be assured to get one. I am sure I’m not the only one who’s having the same concern. With how Honda Canada’s dealing with the FL5 thing, you can’t be sure to have one until you have it in your garage.

Yep, hence the Type S is in the cards. My GSM at Honda has gone quiet for months now. Hopefully I hear something before the Type S allocation.

type S is a great plan B… but I do prefer the FL5… maybe a few will go to this car instead… let me know… I’ll pick your spot in line for the FL5 hahaha

Update on my end.

Looks like they're getting 5 Integra Type S in 2023 (Calgary dealer). 2 in June, 3 in July/Aug. All of them are black or white. Sounds like 13 people on the list.. I’m #2 and have to make a decision.

No idea on residuals currently unfortunately... probably be out in June. Now to decide if I go ahead with the ITS and then sell it once my FL5 order comes in 2024.

Do you guys think the ITS will hold onto value pretty well?

My thing is, if they've taken a deposit and kept it this long, one SHOULD expect to get one. They were refunding deposits late last year. The frustration is not knowing either way.

I do too, and I'm sure some will move over, depending on reviews. I'm keeping my spot for now
