To all,
I have a 2025 Civic Sport Touring, with a white exterior and gray interior.
I don’t know if this is something I just didn’t notice before and am just now noticing, but to someone who has the same vehicle or same color scheme, does the soft touch (vinyl?) material on the dashboard panel vary in its shade of gray, especially in different lightings?
Long story short, I thought I had over cleaned my old dash to where I scratched it, dried out the oils, discolored it/made the color fade. I could see areas where (thought) I scrubbed too much or too hard and saw where some areas looked like they were turning lighter, white almost. I tried restoring it with LVP conditioner but all that did was make it super shiny.
I had the dash replaced, and either they replaced it with the same panel and didn’t realize it, or they are all like this by design in color, because the new one from Honda looked very similar to my old one in terms of the variations.
My question is, do y’all’s dash look like the gray color varies a bit across the dash, and isn’t one solid shade of gray? I’ve read where the gray can look different depending on the type and amount of different lightings. I’ve noticed in dark or low lighting, it looked like one solid shade of gray. The more light that hits it, the more you see the variations. I will also see the variations on the dash where some area are light and some dark under the same lighting conditions at the same time. If that’s the way it’s supposed to be, then I need to just make peace with it.
I added a picture to try and illustrate what I am talking about. If anyone would be willing to share pictures of their dash to compare, or has any insight that they have experienced this, I’d appreciate it too.
Any thoughts? Thanks
