Hi all,

I’d like to get some feedback from other FL5 owners, especially taller or bigger drivers.

My FL5 has around 1,100 km and I’ve noticed that after exiting the car, a visible crease/wrinkle appears on the front outer section of the driver seat bottom bolster (the area near the thigh support, close to the seat opening).

Important details:
  • The crease only appears when the seat is empty.
  • As soon as I sit down, it completely disappears.
  • No tears, no loose stitching, no permanent deformation.
  • The foam feels firm and normal.
  • Car is used carefully and only occasionally
  • I’m quite big for the car.
Garage space is tight, so the door cannot open fully, and I may be unintentionally twisting slightly while exiting — I’m wondering if this is simply fabric displacement on Alcantara + aggressive bolsters, or if others have noticed the same thing early on.

I’m not worried about comfort or safety, just trying to understand whether this:
  • Is normal behaviour for these seats,
  • Is common with larger drivers,
  • Or if it’s something that tends to stabilize over time.
If anyone has seen something similar (photos welcome), I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks.

PS: This is the area in which the wrinkle appears:

It's from your left leg movement while clutching in and out. You extend your left leg more than you would with your right one with brake/throttle because there is more travel with the clutch (it goes farther in compared to the brake/throttle). This leg extension is pushing/pulling the fabric and stretching it every time you move, causing this deformation. To remedy, you would move the seat forward to decrease the left leg extension, but then the brake/throttle pedals may be too close for the right.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it 👍

That makes sense regarding the extra clutch travel and left leg extension. I do feel that my pedals may actually be a bit far, so it’s possible my driving position isn’t fully dialed in yet.

I’ll try adjusting the seat slightly forward and see if that reduces the leg extension and any fabric movement over time, while keeping the right leg comfortable for brake/throttle.

I’ve also reclined the seat a bit fordward because the seatbelt anchor angle looks quite awkward for my height and I didn’t want to stress the belt, so I may need to revisit the overall position more carefully.

I’ll monitor it after making some adjustments.
Thanks again for sharing your experience.
