I asked someone who just got an si how the Fiesta ST and Focus ST(both he drove. compared to the si.) interesting retrospective.

I test drove the GLI before buying the Si, didn't like it at all. You sit very high up, it feels huge, shifter isn't very good. Feels like driving a minivan compared to the Si.

I drove a Fiesta ST in like 2018 when they were new, they are very raw, hard to compare to the Si. It feels like a 90s car, which is good and bad.

Our 2023 Focus is awesome, very roomy backseat, nice interior, and the 185 hp 3 cylinder turbo is a nice engine. Such a pity we don't get the car in the US, especially the ST.

Am partial to sporty 5 door automobiles but wagons are now out of style in the US.
Faves: 1800es ('72-73), Audi S4 2.4L v8 ('03-08), 9-5 Aero ('99-09), Acura TSX ('12-14, sadly no 6cyl nor manual tranny in the wagon)

I read somewhere that Ford US is phasing out passenger cars & will sell only SUV's and trucks.

I see a lot of Focus wagons here in Taiwan, mostly the 1.5T rather than STs but they look very similar. We paid $28k for our 2023 Focus ST-Line, and the ST was $48k, which is kind of crazy, but that includes Taiwan's 30% import tax (our ST-Line is built in Taiwan so avoids the tax).

We're looking at the Mercedes GLB 250 when we return to the US, because honestly it's really a hatch/wagon in disguise. I test drove one and loved it. You can get 1-2 year old CPO models for like mid to high $30k so that's what we'll go for.
