Have this posted on another 11th Gen forum and just want to pass it along

So I want to start by saying I am in no way affiliated with Burger Motorsports. Like most here I love my new Si but I am rarely content leaving anything stock. Naturally I wouldn’t mind more power but I also have a lot of my factory warranty left and also purchased the 7 year 120k Hondacare extended warranty. With that I really didn’t want to do an ECU flash with Ktuner or Hondata.

I am fully aware that nothing can replace the quality of a “true“ tune. I have long been aware that the JB4 ”piggyback“ ECU exists and is very popular amongst BMW and VW community. So that lead me to jump onto Burger Motorsports website to see if they offer anything for the 1.5T. Good news was they did for what they label as the “2016+”. I reached out through email to confirm if this was to include the 11th Gen, after sending them a few pics of my sensors they confirmed it does.

I am cheap and love to save money(who doesn’t) so I really didn’t want to spend the $529+ which doesn’t even include the cable or optional Bluetooth module for live data and gauges through an app they offer. Facebook marketplace was my friend here and I was able to find a used one for $250 with the cable included. It being completely plug and play, without flashing the ECU, and removable if warranty work is required is what really pushed me toward this option. I should be getting it in the mail in the next day or two and will be keeping you all posted on my findings.

UPDATE.

I have received the Tuner and can confirm it does work on the 11th Gen. platform, as the website just says 2016+ 1.5T and 2.0T. on to the install, it was beyond easy. Remove the MAP and TMAP sensors and plug them into the corresponding connectors and then the new connectors from the JB4 into the factory connection locations. After that a longer wire runs down the engine bay and can be routed behind the weather stripping for the door and plugs into the OBDii port.

you have 2 connection options, a Bluetooth connect kit($149) or the USB computer cable($40). If you choose the Bluetooth option, you then have to download the JB4 app for an extra $27, which I think is kind of crappy considering for the JB4 and the Bluetooth connect kit, you already are coughing up $678+tax. That alone may make some die hard Ktuner/Hondata fans say no way, considering you can get a true ECU flash for cheaper. Luckily for me I only paid $250. So mine came with the USB data cable so I simply downloaded the free software for windows, plugged the JB4, cut the accessory power on on the car and was able to change my maps. The software allows for data logging/etc, but no way am I driving around with a laptop in my car. That is where the Bluetooth has the huge advantage, you can monitor everything from your phone.

I won’t argue one way or the other as to Burger motorsports claim to the unit being undetected once removed as that is highly debated on just about every forum. What I will say is I feel a little safer running it over a flash, but that’s just me. onto what you all wanted to hear, how does it perform. Well I decided to go straight to MAP 2(+4psi 93 oct.) and the first pull I was smiling ear to ear as it was immediately noticeable how much of a difference and power this made. I will run it for awhile and update/answer any questions. I would say $250 very well spent!.
