I have an Invidia exhaust on my 2024 Civic 2.0 hatchback. The muffler makes contact with the underbody (where rear bumper support attaches) over uneven roads. I don't want to bend the support to increase the 1/4 inch gap. I thought about applying rubber trim like this, but I'm afraid it'll melt off. Any suggestions?

I think Invidia made this exhaust for the sedan, and didn't test fit it on a hatchback. I read the sedan doesn't have this issue because of a different rear bumper support. The sedan is 5" longer than the hatchback, thus my exhaust sticks further out. Their website doesn't specify sedan or hatchback fitment. 🙄

Looks easy enough to bend the body flange out of the way. It won't take much to provide clearance. I'd use a small Crescent wrench and touch up any paint cracks afterward.

Otherwise they sell exhaust flange spacers, which need 2 gaskets per flange and longer bolts. Not sure how hard it is to find the one you need.

I followed your advice. Paint didn't crack! Thanks!
