I have 23 type r with 4238 miles on it, on Sunday I was driving on highway for couple of hours, I set temp at 74 blowing warm air and suddenly it start throwing cold air. Turned the knob to 80 same thing cold but when I turned to max it start blowing warm air. Any recommendations because I had the same issue with my FK8 and I figured out that Blend Door Actuator gone bad. At that time blend door was making clicking noise but in this case there is no noise etc. and I just ran out of warranty last month on this car.

Are both driver and passenger sides blowing cool air? If so, you should probably check the coolant level first. If only one side is blowing cool and the other is hot you can try tapping on the actuator while adjusting the temp. If it starts moving the actuator is most likely bad.

If both are cold and coolant is full I'd start checking for a blockage in the heater lines. Both lines going to the heater core should be hot. The outlet one should be slightly cooler.

If you wind up at the dealer, ask if they'll still fix it under warranty. I got a concession fix on my Acura TL, which was 2k miles beyond the warranty. It doesn't hurt to ask.

So far these steps I have done
1: checked coolant level.
2: recalibrate the blend door actuator used the ignition cycle and temperature sweep method.
3: inbound and outbound hoses who goes to heater core are warm enough.
4: top hose who goes to radiator is warm and bottom one who’s connected to thermostat is cold.

Now I disconnected the negative battery terminal for over night and see whether things work or not.

if nothing work than I believe dealer is the best option, because it’s literally a brand new car and I don’t wanna take it to back door mechanics.
