I’m hoping to secure a SGP within a month and I’m planning out the little OEM+ tweaks I’m looking to do. I’m not one to really mod a car, would rather save the money for a different car at that point. I also think it will be unique if it’s left stock. In any case, I’m mostly curious to hear people’s thoughts on my mods below, suggestions for the oem+ look. Would really like to hear about anyone’s experience with stickier summer tires and how that changed the overall experience?

-Michelin PS4S (is this over kill?)
-set of proper winter wheels/tires (Blizzaks)
-Paint protection film on front fenders, hood, bumper, mirrors, headlights (probably overkill, but I’ve had some bad experiences with my M2 and PPF saved the paint)
-Ceramic coating (I like Carpro UK 3.0, will apply myself)
-weather tech mats
-wheel locks
-Mikstore has some really cool mods Ie parking sensors which would be really cool

Use your stock wheels for winter wheels and get some nice light and good looking wheels for the rest of the year. I enjoyed my Konig Ampliforms.

Get a Hondata / Ktuner and a mild (250tq) flash, and that's all you need. Enjoy!

I’m still gauging how safe running even a mild tune is. I don’t want to worry about engine knock or my clutch slipping. Does anyone have any links or info to share on how much boost or what tune you can safely run without any issues with reliability or a major impact to fuel economy?

with regards to the wheels, I don’t love aftermarket wheels. I wish Honda offered nicer HPD wheels as an option. I may just get another oem set of wheels for the winter tires

There is a ton of info on the forums. CivicX is the place to start. Just start googling.

Resources:

The 1.5T has a huge aftermarket tuning scene. Check out this thread on CivicX and start from there. Do your research. Off the shelf tunes from Hondata, Phearable, and 2Step are reliable, just don't abuse your car and don't attempt to change any of the tunes yourself. If you want my opinion, most people who destroy their engines and clutches abuse the car in some way or modify the tune outside of their skill level. If you stay in the safe zone of off the shelf tunes and tried and true tuning paths, you'll be ok.

Eman is very knowledgedable and active in the community. He makes the best CTR retrofit clutches. He says the 1.5T is good to 260whp on stock internals. About 260whp is also where the stock clutch starts to slip. This confirmed by a lot of people on CivicX and Hondata.

Clear bra is a must. I already had chips in the 2 days it took for me to get it clear bra'd. All weather mats all day erry day in all my cars. I live in AZ so it's a must but pretty much anywhere your shoes are going to get wet or dirty or both you should probably just get them. In fact I don't understand why cars even come with carpeted mats anymore.
