I haven't yet done this cleaning and I was wondering if it would be OK to remove the Mass Airflow Sensor and introduce the cleaner in the hole that's left. Will the car continue to run if I do that and is this a good idea. I know you're not supposed to get the cleaner on the MAF but since it's removed I thinking this method would be very easy and safe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not a “car guy”. Where would the vacuum line you suggested be located?

there's a couple running into the throttle body. I'd spray it through the PCV return or brake booster line. i haven't done it myself yet though.
