Rear lighting issue?

I was driving behind a new Civic Hatchback (Sport) this evening and I couldn't help but notice that every time the brakes were applied the middle brake light was quite a bit brighter on the driver's side than the rest of the light. Anyone else notice this?

Looked at mine tonight. My center LED brake light had uniform brightness left to right.
