I've been off and on looking at rotors and pads, scanned the pads thread and have an idea of the more popular ones.
Paragon and Girodisc seems to be favorites for 2pc fronts at a bit of a premium, OE can also be found for decent price from dealers if you can find them nearby if you prefer blanks. I've been leaning towards OE rotors because I daily and I'm not sure I want to pay a premium for paragon to find out how much faster it wears my pads.
Pads have a much wider preference depending on track needs, street (cold) performance, and dust.
One brand that is almost hilariously absent is Speed By Design. This pops up every once in a while on Facebook groups, and doesn't get a lot of attention there too. Some Google research finds mixed results from GTR and BMW groups. It is interesting to see a one-front-man representing an unknown manufacturing source. He offers some specs and weight data in his videos but I would be more interested in comparisons to other product. The price is closer to OE. Is there a thread on this I'm missing? I see mention of discs and pads of various names from rockauto all the time but not this brand.
Any thoughts?
