I’ve read about the key thing. Is it a myth or true if you put your keys in a metal coffee can of such it cannot be read.

IMHO, aluminum provides a good level of protection. Ideally copper is better but can be brittle so it is common for faraday cages for example to use both a copper wire mesh (https://www.dmcrf.com/copper-wire-mesh-the-ultimate-faraday-cage-solution/) layered with iron for structural support and additional shielding. Regardless of material, the enclosure must be fully sealed when closed.

If they want the car, let them have it, here in the UK we don't, and are not allowed (thankfully) to carry firearms, if someone was to come up into my child's bedroom looking for keys I'd be mortified. Let them take it, its what insurance is for.. .

I have Amazon sourced Faraday key pouches and they work great. Read directions: The fob needs to be in the copper lined pocket.

I also installed an OBD port blocker, but had to add a homemade retainer to make the eBay find work.

A Faraday blocker made of any metal kills RF signals. A steel recipe card box is cheap and works fine in the home for key storage.

AZ is the wild west and carrying guns is legal (and common), but prefer to avoid those options unless pressed.

Faraday pouch or box is worth getting and I'm glad you're getting an immobilizer. Another way they steal these cars is via the OBD2 port. Having something to block or relocate and a fuel pump cutoff switch hidden somewhere will help deter them as well.

It is one reason for removable steering wheels.

This is not the intention of why I installed one for myself. I suppose the thieves can utilize an extended wrench to turn the wheel, but they won't be getting any joy from driving the car.

I am reasonably sure that the UK probably also has more knowledge of using a manual. :)

Do you mind sharing the floor carpet? Looks great.

What sort of mentality is that??? So glad I don’t live where only criminals have weapons and the public are left defenseless. Conceal carry to protect yourself, your family and prevent car jackings.

Unfortunately, it's easy to steal modern cars. An RF blocker key pouch and OBD2 blocker prevents theft, except by towing.

My understanding is an RF signal capture device and an expensive Autel tablet are normally used, which generally means organized crime involvement. The needed Autel's are several thousand $ and are supposed to be sold to only licensed locksmiths or auto repair businesses. The Autel's software also requires a subscription. Here in AZ, the police describe the perps being caught as south American gang members.
