Hy guys!
Does anybody know if we will be able to boost Civic XI E:hev. I can’t find any topics on the net.
Thank you!

No, most of the time, the engine in hybrid Hondas is essentially working as a electricity generator and the car is driven using the electrical motor. Only in high-speed steady state cruising does the engine clutch engage and the engine is driving the car forwards.

There's zero incentive to tune the engine because its function is an electrical generator. Power and acceleration is determined by the electrical motor, not engine. What are you going to tune for? Sound? You won't be able to make the car go faster if the engine makes more power, you'll just burn gas uselessly. Plus, Honda hybrids come with the 2.0 naturally aspirated engines, there's no boosting those.

"In general, there are three types of hybrid systems: 1) a series hybrid, in which the engine generates electricity and the electric motor drives the vehicle; 2) a parallel hybrid, in which the engine primarily drives the vehicle while the motor assists; and 3) a series-parallel hybrid, in which both the engine and motor act together to drive the vehicle."

"For the low- to mid-speed range, where the motor has an advantage over the engine, the e:HEV works like a series hybrid, and drives the vehicle with a motor. During high-speed cruising, where the engine has an advantage over the motor, the e:HEV works like a parallel hybrid and the engine which is simply and directly connected to the tires primarily drives the vehicle. In other words, the e:HEV is an intelligent hybrid system unique to Honda, taking advantage of both series and parallel hybrid systems."

Thank you!
I have my e:HEV at home and it’s great. Have 184hp and like you wrote motor is most of the time like generator. But I wonder if is any option to tune it to 200hp or more maybe.
But tnx for the answer.
