2025 Honda Civic Type R Build

Wanted to share some details about the ongoing build of my 11th generation Honda Civic Type R FL5, which has been a life long passion project for me. I'm really excited about the modifications I've done so far and the ones that I'm planning in the near future.

Here's a breakdown of the parts installed and the upgrades made.

PRL Charge Pipe and Intercooler

To start with, I've installed the PRL charge pipe kit and upgraded intercooler. These two components alone have made a significant difference in performance, enhancing airflow and improving the overall cooling efficiency.

PRL High Volume Intake (HVI)

Next up, I've added the PRL High Volume Intake (HVI). This intake system has really opened up the car’s breathing capabilities, allowing for better throttle response and a noticeable increase in horsepower. The sound it produces is also a great bonus and helps give you that turbo whoosh noise that you're looking for!

PRL Rear Motor Mount

To ensure all that power gets transferred effectively to the wheels, I've installed a PRL rear motor mount. This upgrade has significantly reduced engine movement, resulting in a more solid feel when accelerating and shifting gears.

Acuity Shift Bushing Kit

Shifting gears has never been smoother thanks to the Acuity shift bushing kit. This upgrade has provided a much more direct and precise shift feel, making each gear change feel more satisfying and controlled.

PRL Titanium Inlet Pipe, TSP HEDP 5" Downpipe, and Front Pipe from PRL

Recently I've installed the highly anticipated stuff such as the Titanium Turbo Inlet Pipe Kit from PRL along with their 3" Front Pipe. In addition, I've added the TwoStep Performance 5" High-Efficiency Catted Downpipe with the PTP Hybrid blanket. Had to sell my left nut 🤣 to get these parts lol jk but they were totally worth the money spent on them that's for sure!

Titanium Strut Tower Hardware & Turbo Inlet Hardware

For weight reduction purposes I've swapped out the OEM steel alloy hardware on the front Strut Towers and Turbo Inlet cooling line with anodized Burnt Titanium hardware. I've got a couple extra sets if anyone is interested...hit me up!

11th Gen Honda Civic Vtec Slayer's FL5 Project Build fl5-jester

Hondata FlashPro w/ JesterTuned Custom Calibration

I've gone to the dark side and have utilized the infamous Hondata FlashPro tuning module and have consulted with my good friend the legendary Jester himself at JesterTuned to dial-in my FL5 with a custom calibration on a cloned DE5 ECU *wink wink* to squeeze out as much horsepower as possible while keeping longevity in mind for reliability and safety. He really knows his stuff and if you need a custom tune I would definitely reach out to him for a custom calibration!

11th Gen Honda Civic Vtec Slayer's FL5 Project Build hardlagged-heat-shield

Heat Management
I live in South Florida where the ambient temperatures can get really hot and to avoid heat soak and turbo lag I've installed a Dream Automotive hard-lagged turbo heat shield and for my downpipe a PTP Hybrid blanket. Funk Motorsport gold reflective tape in specific areas to help reflect radiant heat. My IAT2 temperatures are averaging around 66-74 on the hottest day however idle temps at lights and while parked are what keep me worried the most but hopefully my new WOT HPT cooling plate will help dissipate some of the stagnant heat.

Accessory Modifications

Mugen Carbon Fiber Center Console
Dream Automotive Front Seat Covers
Civic Type R Contoured Floor Mats
Genuine Honda OEM - JDM Eurohorn
Mugen Door Sill & Scuff Plates
TAKETWO AU Suede Dash Cover

Upcoming Modifications

Full Bolt-On Catback Exhaust w/ Valvetronic

Our current exhaust is much more noticeable with all of the current modifications and we're enjoying our subtle pops and bangs thanks to Jester however we are looking for the ultimate exhaust kit to compliment everything that has been done to our project build so far. If you're an aftermarket exhaust manufacturer looking for exposure, sound clips, and an honest review. We'd love to talk!

11th Gen Honda Civic Vtec Slayer's FL5 Project Build cooling-plate

HPT Cooling Plate by WOT

To ensure optimal cooling under harsh conditions we are getting ready to install the HPT Cooling Plate engineered by Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

Check back later for more project build updates!
