Few bullet points from the article:
  • The new civic hatchback will debut this summer (around August) in pure gasoline form
  • The e:HEV (hybrid) version & the Type R version will appear in 2022.
  • Built in UK plant
  • The 4dr sedans discontinued in Japan.
  • World premier in July
  • Official announcement in late August
  • EX (advanced grade)
    , 10.2 inch TFT meter
    , leather x suede seat
    , adaptive driving beam
    , BOSE audio
    , LED FOG
    , driver's seat 8Way / passenger seat 4Way power seat
    , wireless charge
  • LX (base grade)
    , 9-inch display audio navigation
    , blind spot information
    , knee airbags
, left and right independent air conditioners
In a different article from the same website. There Is speculation (from a supposedly trusted source) that the new type R will have the same engine as the current model but the rear wheels will be a hybrid that combines two independent motors.

1. We know the new hatchback will be made in Ohio. We've know that for about a year now. The Swindon UK plant is closing in June.
2. We know that a hybrid system is NOT coming to the CTR yet.

Japan actually will have a separate plant to build the Hatchback domestically. US hatchback will be built in Ohio.

Hybrid model will more then likely not come to the US. It will be sold for Japan and Europe.

I wish Honda would have gone less Crosstour and more i30...

I gotta admit, I was eyeing one of these as a possible upgrade if Hyundai went with an N version but then they all out cancelled it.

Someone might have already posted this rendering:

This rendering looks waaaay nicer than the one I posted. Reminds me more of an Audi sportback.

also: the rear will need a spoiler treatment and I would definitely black out the chrome trim.

It has that strange eearly electric/hybrid car look that was totally unexciting for some reason... I'm in the market for 2022 Si or Type R (depending on details) so I really hope this is far from what Honda actually releases.

I really hope it doesn't look this render...

Yeah, the chrome really has to go. Based on what we saw from the early presentations of the sport trim, it will. Can't wait to see it in real life!

Yea if I don’t like the hatchback, I’m gonna try to get into a gt-n line

Get a Veloster N if you like the hatch thing or wait for new Elantra N. Both will have same engine and have optional DCT. I’m personally waiting on the Elantra N as possible next car in a couple years

Wtf hope it does (it won't tho. Those taillights were only seen on early testing mules. Recent sightings all have sleek and boring ones)

I liked the gt-n line cuz it was a 4 door hatch. And came with a 6MT

The pic in the OP looks like the resurrected Dodge Dart that came out sometime in the past decade.
