You lost me with interpretation by dealer and state.
For example in canada every dealer legally obligated by governing body to sell at MSRP. MSRP doesn't mean what u pay. The term is loosely used. Does that make sense?

"We only sell at MSRP" means different things depending on the person (dealer) you are speaking to.

If I didn't work for a dealer I wouldn't consider even buying one.

I know that MSRP does not mean what you will pay after all things considered. I also think you have a fine grip on what MSRP is.

However the term shouldn't be used loosely. It is the Manufacturer's suggested retail price. It doesn't include destination, nor packages or accessories or tax and title fees. I know that you know that.

It's just that MSRP is MSRP. What you pay is different... But it still is MSRP.

We are on the same page.

Correct, I think alot of people on here think MSRP is the price they will pay.

If you've been on CivicX or CivicXi, or even CiviciX for more than a week you KNOW what MSRP means and that it seldom has anything to do with the OTD price which is different in most states/provinces and even within.

It seems alot of people on this forum have never bought new. And think MSRP committed by dealer = OTD price lol. "I won't pay $5k over MSRP" ETC.

Possibly they have not bought in this market or are just misspeaking. I think the problem most people have is not MSRP plus dealer add ons, tax, destination and other fees. It’s the ADM and market adjustment price. Manufacturers have been trying to find a way to fight this for years. Ford is moving to allow consumers to purchase electric cars online to help customers avoid these added fees. Time will tell what is done but currently forms like this can be used to share your experience so people can know what to expect when going to (x) dealership.

HondaPro Jason just posted about locking in the first 2023 Type R at a dealer in LA, in CW. Wonder if he knows when the release will be, since he says he is even picking his color…

Where did you get that idea? I never said anything about, “in the whole country”?

I literally said the first at a dealer in LA, not in the country…

I know you didn’t…but I think he thinks he is and most of his fanboys think so as well. I’d laugh if the first one they get isn’t even a champ white

Yeah, I don’t follow him, but he does seem to get info pretty quick, so just thought it was interesting.
