As some of you may remember my tint guy ruined my armrest so I had Sweidit redo it in leather with thicker padding.. I also decided to do the plastic piece in front of it.. it's SO much better feel wise.
Very please with the service overall.

Matches the new wheel.. The armrest and plastic trim wrapped was $400.. Including the softer padding.. That alone is worth it, it's MUCH softer than OEM.

That looks great! Thanks for circling back and sharing. It does look OEM and very tasteful with the steering wheel match.

Have any more pics of the a pillars? And did you have to buy new clips to reinstall them?

Another vouch for Sweidit and his workmanship on my FK8 parts. I was pleased with his steering wheel, so I also had them do the center console rails, front door armrests with padding, rear door armrests with padding, and rear door inserts - all in alcantara. Might do the rear seat next, as Sweidit is currently developing a matching black alcantara seat cover (similar to the non-USDM FL5 OEM option).

@s2kdriver80 Looks really nicely done. I like the steering wheel a lot and have been thinking about getting my wheel done like that (but without the red center stripe). The factory steering wheel should’ve came with the perforated leather grip areas, if you ask me…and a bit tougher leather would’ve been a plus too. It scratches quite easily.

Thanks, yea the stock FK8 one was terrible IMO, no red inner stitching and the red inserts on the bottom spokes were just ugly lol. The stock FL5 USDM one looks way better than the FK8 wheel though. Not sure on the leather quality of the FL5 wheel, but even the earlier FK8 leather ones weren't the best quality. Didn't like the alcantara one that came in mine, as it still had the ugly red inserts on the bottom and wore too easily. Highly recommend Sweidit, he used Nappa leather for mine, you can request the perforation on the sides and ask to exclude the stripe - can configure however you want. He offered an option to increase the thickness of the wheel as well, but I decided to keep it the same as stock. Was on the fence about the stripe too initially, but don't mind it at all now; lots of performance cars come with it too lol.

@s2kdriver80 Yeah, I like the overall understated look and feel of the FL5 wheel, but Honda should’ve made it a little more premium and differentiated. I’m pretty positive it’s the exact same wheel as found in normal Civics and other vehicles like the CR-V ; The only thing different is the red stitching. It’d be perfect if it had the perforated grips and was just a bit more durable, then I’d have no complaints.

Your wheel looks MUCH better than the stock FK8 wheel. It’s so much cleaner and more traditional “Honda” looking without the red inserts. It really fits with the rest of the interior better too. You made some great choices. Regarding the red stripe, I like it in your car because you got rid of the red inserts. You toned the look of your wheel down significantly ; So adding the red stripe is a nice touch, like a small but tasteful remnant of red. It works! I’m keeping a more OEM+ approach, so I don’t want anything really adding attention that wasn’t there previously…if that makes sense.🙂

Yea I hear ya. If the FL5 leather quality is similar to the earlier FK8 wheel, then I think you'll like this Nappa leather wheel. The smell is great too lol. If you decide to go with Sweidit, just ask for the Nappa leather, with the perforation on the "Knight Rider" sections, red inner stitching, no top red stripe, and OEM thickness (e.g. in other words, same as stock, except higher quality Nappa + the perforation). You can reference these pics if you want.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the details. Super helpful! @s2kdriver80 It’s funny, but leather / leather oil DOES smell good!
