The idea is that the GRC will become my winter car at some point in the futur, heated seats and heated steering plus awd is a no brainer for me.
Yea, mine is currently my all weather vehicle as I can only have 1 car. Luckily my insurance is cheap and gas mileage is not bad.

I don't see any Type R listed in the Atlantic, assume it might be sold.

Call and ask who set the price. So you can get a hookup on what s/he is smoking. Sure sounds good.

My local deal called me yesterday. The salesman asked me if I was still interested in buying the Type R for the deposit I gave 2 years ago…

Problem is that I bought a 2024 GR Corolla circuit edition and I love it.

I knew this day would come as I have been the next in line since I gave the deposits (at Honda and Toyota) 2 years ago.

The idea was to buy the first one that shows up and trade for the other one if I did like it.

I wish I could have both, but I believe I will have no other choice than asking for my deposit back.

The type r is the only color I wanted; white. This is just sad :(
I ended up in the same position back in June. I had a deposit for the GRC back in April 2022, but I was only 20th on the wait list. That summer I also put a deposit on the Type R, I was 3rd, and then by September, when they were putting deposits in the stripe system, I was 2nd. Honda dealer received first Type R in November, but then went radio silent for all of 2023. Started to lose faith in my dealer, lots of stories of cars secretly being flipped... then in Jan 2024 I get a call for an unclaimed GRC core and I went for it. Early June, Honda dealer calls me, says car is on the way :(

I had the GRC in the garage until late April, so by then drove it less than 2 months, not even broken in. I couldn't make a decision and passed on the R :(

I have had more time with the GRC, really enjoying it, but more and more I know I settled, and it's the Type R I would have really wanted. I did not get issued a refund, so I am assuming I am still linked for the next and maybe last allocation, need to check with dealer.

Good news out of all of this though is that, unless it's just a massive coincidence, I believe @J_D ended up with my allocation. In my area was a blue FK8, and not long after the call, that blue FK8 was replaced by a SGP FL5. So, maybe just coincidence, but if not, congrats and you're welcome! :D

Canadians make less money than Americans do overall. So the auto makers reduce their margins to still make a sale.

Smaller profit for them is better than no profit.
