Update: I directly asked where I am in the line this week... the response was that there are "a number of customers" who ordered the old Type-R that will be going ahead of me in line for the new one.
Being that they are expecting 1 or 2 cars... and "a number of customers" sounds like at least...
Ok, that is interesting
I've been on the waitlist at Carter since forever and they straight up refused to take a deposit.
When did you put your deposit down if you don't mind me asking?
Dealer update (BC):
Still no new information, all they can tell me is they are expecting 1 to 2 cars at most
Personally I don't really care about this. I just wish they would make enough of them for people that want them.
^^ Man, they still have Japanese spec models on the Canadian website. What is going on, lol.
I noticed a few people mentioning they are hearing things from Canadian dealers... before I reach out to mine (and annoy them again), how many people are getting e-mails or calls from their dealers...
I mean, another scenario is this person doesn't even exist and this is just a convenient excuse to sell it to one to a buddy who will turn around and sell it back to them after a month.
At this point I am just at the mercy of whatever goes on behind closed doors. I hope there is integrity in...
Yep. Still radio silence from my dealer
They didn't tell me about the reservation system either.
Basically they don't know how many cars they will get, or when.
When the first tidbit of info started coming out at the end of August I called and talked to someone (not my guy) that basically...
If I ever get one, it will be my year round DD. The whole point of a 4dr hot hatch, to me at least, is precisely that it can be your one and only do-everything car.
So quiet... feels like the hype train has left the station in Canada.
This is actually rediculous. I've ordered and waited for cars before. This is on a whole other level.
There is kind of a website... might be a legacy thing. The steering wheel is on the wrong side in the photos, lol.

I wonder if things are just getting delayed to the point where Canada won't be seeing a 2023 MY... just go right to 2024...
My backup was the Supra manual... well at least until I got told by dealers there is a massive waitlist. So yeah... kind of over being on waitlists after this.
My second backup is maybe a Golf R whenever they fix the steering controls.
Or maybe the car bubble will pop finally and I can pick...
