If you're buying the car solely on looks, the FL5 all day. If you are buying it for performance, especially out the box, the Hyundai is the way to go.

Great to have choices, just enjoy that

I've actually been helping my friend find a DCT Elantra N (he refuses to learn stick because he's a scared cat). He wanted a fun sporty car to drive that wouldnt make him car poor and he hasn't saved enough to just outright buy it like I did the FL5. The EN, alongside the GR Corolla were my picks for sports cars when I was shopping, but the type R is just too damn cool to not get. Imo the GR Corolla looks like a pug and the Elantra N looks too long in the rear. The Elantra N is literally the best bang for your buck you could get in a new sports car, and used it's even better (as long as you get a good deal).

For me though, the type R is far too special and is much more of a track weapon, which is what I wanted in a car.

I have seen a EN DCT on track and they are extremely capable vehicles, even in stock form. I understand not loving the looks of the car, but I would hesitate to mock their performance, they are realisticly (DCT) faster than a Type R.

Yeah I think it's really what you're looking for in a car that determines the choice. I like the engagement of a manual and the polish in driving experience that comes from a Honda. The EN is more of a fun vehicle with how the suspension feels (which I what I mean by the type r being a track weapon). One is like a sharp knife, the other is like a scalpel.
