  1. Where’s the Aero?

100% agree. The lip looks really good but mine lasted like 2 weeks. Mine actually looked good out of the box but it would get big chips in it if you looked at it wrong. To be somewhat fair, the entry to my work's parking lot is not good for lips/lowered cars. I think I may have to make peace...
  2. What did you do to your FL5 today?

You are right, with the OEM hardware it is extremely tedious. 100x easier once titanium hardware is in. I was able to use the double nut method to get the lower stud closest to the front bumper out of the turbo. The top one toward the engine was a complete bitch and I ended up having to...
  3. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Oh, yeah the studs are by far the worst part. I had to fight with mine, maybe I blocked that trauma out, haha. I replaced them all with titanium hardware so it is so much easier now. That makes sense in that case, if you have the OEM hardware it is stressful and slows you down a lot...
  4. What did you do to your FL5 today?

I am curious, what was hard on the downpipe install? I have had my OEM downpipe in and out a couple times doing random stuff and thought it was quite easy to remove/reinstall. Just seeing if it was something with the aftermarket downpipe or if the OEM one fought you.
  5. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Got a bunch of stuff installed over the last few days. RV6 Rear Sway Bar Magic Collar Rigid Collars Paragon P3 front brake pads Hardrace Lower Camber Ball Joint (set to -1 degree camber vs stock) Bonoss 20mm spacers (all 4 wheels) Hasport RMM (U62A Street bushing) Also did oil change and manual...
  6. Official SONIC GRAY PEARL FL5 Type R Photos Thread

The 15mm spacers look good. I have a set of Bonoss 20mm spacer front/rear going on after I get back from vacation next week. Stock wheels and height, should look good I think. I was going to go 15mm but I am trying to think ahead to my 18" track wheels that will likely be a +38mm offset. The...
  7. Squeaky Noise When Driving…HELP

Definitely seems like a rock in the brake dust shield like @TypeRD said. Had this happen to me mid-course last weekend at an auto-x and it completely took me out of the zone. It sounds awful but at least an easy fix.
  8. What in your opinion is the best exhaust for the FL5?

Yes, the Remark is louder than a resonantor delete. I didn't find that the resonantor delete actually added much volume at all, it was a very minor increase.
  9. What in your opinion is the best exhaust for the FL5?

Yep, plan on going catted. I don't like the tradeoff with a catless for a daily driver. Glad to hear it doesn't increase the volume very much on this platform. I have had a car or two in the past where even the catted downpipe caused a significant increase in volume.
  10. What in your opinion is the best exhaust for the FL5?

I can't believe the stock exhaust with resonator delete is getting so many votes, it was a very minor increase in sound. Granted I still think it is worth it over 100% OEM due to the affordability factor. Now that I have had my Remark Ti exhaust for a bit I can say I am very pleased with it...
  11. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

This is good information and is in that instructions PDF. PointByPatrol did post about being mindful of this earlier in the thread and it was one of the items I was unaware of at the time.
  12. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

3rd time was the charm. The correct bleeding procedure was key (obviously). Concerning pedal feel/pressure after each bleeding sequence: 1st = 10% feeling 2nd = 90% feeling 3rd (with correct bleeding procedure) = 100% feeling
  13. Radar Detector Install - Mirror Tap Issue

I did not yet. I haven't made it a priority but I am still figuring out a mounting solution for the blendmount from my previous car. I thought it would work ok but it ends up slipping out of place too easily to be relied on. Sucks that blendmount doesn't make something for the Type R...
  14. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

Thanks, I will do that. I do like having the service manual. I already ordered some additional brake fluid and will be doing another flush this weekend.
  15. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

Thanks @PointByPatrol. That order is different than I used. Typically used to starting furthest from the reservoir and working closer. I also didn't acuate the parking brake at all, good to know. Pedal firmed up this morning so it actually feels good throughout the range now but I will get...
  16. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Sorted out my brake bleeding problem after installing Dream/Hel braided brake lines and titanium front brake shims. My Remark Titanium exhaust showed up today and I threw that on as well. Shoutout to @MERAKIAUTOWORKS (Josh) for hooking me up with the Remark exhaust.
  17. PointByPatrol #21985 Build Journal! RIP #9243

I bought these when I got my FL5: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09R41TJXQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They have served me well as I have broken a few clips myself on the FL5 and also on my wife's Odyssey. I have used 3 or 4 of the different clip varieties in that...
  18. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

I remembered I had bought a Speedi-bleed when I was getting the FL5 and tried using that. It just introduced a whole ton of new air bubbles to the system, seems like the outlet side is not sealing properly on the Speedi-bleed reservoir. I am in contact with the mfg to try to sort that out...
  19. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

It has to be air bubbles, we will see after the rebleed. Master never got low and new copper washers were used on the rear banjo bolts since they came with the new braided lines. Pedal pressure was good and firm when bleeding each corner. Didn't feel bad until the car was turned on
  20. Issues after Braided Brake Line install and Brake Bleed

Sure thing. I will report back after looking at it again tonight. It has to be air in the lines IMO.
