  1. Sound Deadening Project

What material did the CR-Z owner use?
  2. Sound Deadening Project

    Already did. ;)
  3. Sound Deadening Project

Yes I am. I've got about 9k miles on these tires with this car. I've used them on multiple other cars in the past, as well.
  4. Sound Deadening Project

I suspect you will end up swapping to the tire I recommended earlier...the DWS06+. ;) I'll be very curious to hear how you enjoy the car with those tires + damping.
  5. Sound Deadening Project

I did a quick test using the same app yesterday. At a steady state 70 mph (cruise) on a flat, smooth, relatively quiet highway surface I recorded a max of 70.9 dB and average of 68.6 dB. Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet, this is with the fake exhaust noise disabled.
  6. Sound Deadening Project

I replied to the thread earlier so I guess I'll do it again. I don't have hard app data, but I'm on 255/40R18 Continental DWS06+ tires. I've used these on several other cars, including my previous Golf R. They are excellent and are quieter than the factory PS4S's. Other mods that could...
  7. Sound Deadening Project

Holy shit, what an awesome thread. I can't believe I just discovered this. Context: I applied some trunk and trans tunnel deadening my first month with the car, as it's a standard practice for me. I also have an ND2 Miata and have done quite a bit there, but not to your levels. My brother...

  9. Springs + Tall Tires

Moving from a 265 width to 255 width is peanuts, relatively. Mind you, the tire is a DWS06+...this is not a track setup, thus the added 10-20mm would only add rolling resistance and wouldn't be fully utilized on the street. This is a lightweight, daily setup that handles well in the dry, wet...
  10. Springs + Tall Tires

18s look better, are lighter and gain you sidewall. There's absolutely no reason to run 19s on this car. Personally, I'm running 255/40R18s - with that change only, not only did the car ride nicer, but it also gained some athleticism due to the 8 lb weight loss per corner. After adding the DE5...
  11. M&M Front Pillow upper mount for FL5 00202-FL5-M001 fit OEM dampers?

Following. I want to stick with the stock springs and dampers but would like to add the sharpness and adjustability of aftermarket top hats.
  12. Spoon Sports Rigid Collars Installation on FL5

I've had these sitting on my shelf for months. I need to install them.
  13. Whiteline Performance lower, rear control arm bushings installed on 2022 Civic Si - impressions / review

FYI, these work in the FL5. Installed today and really like them. Highly recommended.
  14. Swift vs Eibach Pro-Kit

Your car is now aching for less wheel offset. Visually, it needs it.
  15. Active Dampers too stiff on FL5. Disabled with Damping Cancellation Kit

    It's *DAMPING* folks, not "dampening."
  16. Any recommended front seat covers for FL5 Type-R ?

After receiving some Dream seat covers and dealing with Facebook idiots ignorantly commenting on them, here are my thoughts: 1) These are NOT show-level seat covers. If you want seat covers that don't look like seat covers, those exist and these are not those. 2) These QUICKLY install and...
  17. FL5 stock exhaust valve: Fuse pulled/always open - exterior sound clips

I recommend the PRL RMM for just a little more positive NVH. Combined with the open valve, you'll really enjoy things.
  18. Brake caliper future replacement

You will wear out pads and rotors, possibly caliper guides...not the calipers themselves. How much brake experience do you have?
  19. Chassis Braces

I just installed a 27WON strut tower brace. I previously owned a Mk7.5 Golf R and noticed an immediate difference in the strut tower brace - no more creaks when entering/exiting a driveway, improved steering feel/precision. I notice less of a difference with the Type R, which was expected, but...
  20. Chassis Braces

Chassis braces will not increase NVH. In almost all cases, they reduce it.
