No no
I’m sorry. I did a shit job explaining. Sorry. So there’s the Mickey Mouse crappy stock filter right?
but then there’s another blue Honda filter. It’s made by a company called hamp. Internals are different. Filters better and flows better too.
sorry about that bro.
Highest restriction at high flow makes sense. Amsoil filter’s bypass is more “active” than most due to pressures built up by slower flow
great filter tho. It filters very very well. Great on a daily. Not so much on something U wanna abuse some tho
In regards to the Honda filter. Is that the...
I dunno about all the data but I know for a fact, amsoil filters flow like shit and aren’t preferred in Motorsports due to that. They do filter very well tho
no offense to anyone here. I love their oil but not a fan of their oil filters myself for my car.
I wonder if anything else there was wrong
In terms of its balance between filtration and flow. It’s good. It is not great but it is good
I personally run the wix xp.
regular wix, can’t recommend. It’s better than the stock filter. But not by much.
I’m with U. I don’t understand this either. Did dude’s first dyno = damaged bent stock intercooler with bent fins?
I hate putting it that way cuz I’m not trying to shit on the product. It’s just, that’s a crazy gain
no offense to anyone btw. It’s just hard to believe
regardless. I’m not gonna...
The Honda filter’s media is not synthetic like some fram filters. And to my knowledge. The amsoil filter is the best filtering period. However their flow isn’t great. For a daily that gets pushed hard occasionally. You’d want a good balance between flow and filtering. Two things the Honda filter...
The oem filter is trash. To be fair all oem filters suck (canister ones at least)
the better U filter. The worse your flow. The better your flow. The worse U filter.
the Honda hamp filter is superior but at that price there’s a fuck ton of third party filters that are better than the hamp. And...
Ever loaded a bolt action rifle? Kinda feels like that. The car’s shifter goes from feeling good to great. If U like that extra resistance and sensation, of course.
U know what. Ever drove a va generation wrx sti? Kinda sort of like that but a little better and more precise feeling.
neighbor...
Oooooh. So tuners are basically baking in a bit of artificial lag. So to speak
that’s super smart.
im old enough to remember U didn’t want more than 350wtq on an LSJ if you were keeping the supercharger. But if you turbo charged, that limitation changed to 450wtq depending on the spool...
One cool thing I noticed about paragon pads. Helped my brother in law do a set of p3’s front and rear. Their backplates are super thin and basically adapt to shims with zero drama and zero pad instability issues. I’m sure you’ll like the combo.
Oh gotcha. Read that here but it was a few years old. Also heard it from Luke Wilson’s interview. Also from 2019. Maybe 2020? Can’t recall.
was dude correct when he said the rods weren’t forged? For some reason I thought the k20c1 would be a little more impressive than the ea888 gen 3 and 4...
Dang that’s impressive! How does the k20c1 rods cope with that? I read the motor didn’t have forged rods and the stock rods shouldn’t be taken over 400 crank tq?
I don’t have them either but adding more thermal mass is a solid way of going about things. I just don’t know how it’ll interact with the car’s brake based vectoring in the rear. I assume it’ll be unchanged but I’m not certain.
I live in Colorado and we experience real winters here. Come spring and summer, about 4-6 times a year. Me and a few friends hit the mountain pass. One of our favorite routes is about 5-5.5 miles uphill. Then that same route in reverse, downhill after some pics and milkshakes
I’d like a brake...
Not sure if true but I read Hondas and acuras see the battery voltage and keeps tabs on it. The second the voltage dramatically improves. It’ll know there’s either a new battery or the battery was charged externally. It’ll sort of reset the expected alternator output as a result.
Maybe in a few more years. Seems like the Japanese manufacturers aren’t adopting it at the moment. The mk5 Supra being the only exception. But…. BMW….
