Got some polyurethane 3-hole and epdm hangers to help adjust the tip positioning. The outside holes of the poly hangers are offset from the center so I could flip one to counter the added weight of the Helmholtz resonator on one side. The epdm ones are also a bit shorter than OEM. Super happy...
It seems like the first batch produced is the exhaust that has the midpipe resonator, so that’s what’s available. And they recommend an exhaust without the resonator for being louder with stock DP.
I’m betting you can get the resonated exhaust available now and mate it to stock DP.
I finally got it installed behind my PRL frontpipe which I had put on in December. From inside, the tone, volume and how it responds to throttle is great, with the windows up or down. Before and with the PRL frontpipe, the stock exhaust was still masked by the bass and vibes from the PRL RMM...
I got the MXP Comp RS awhile back (I didn’t find Mackin Industries offering any other of their exhaust lines for the FL5), for about $1,150 with free shipping. I weighed the pieces individually for a total of 40.88 lbs.
It arrived with some pretty rough machining marks and scratches, possibly...
I finally got around to weighing this MXP Comp RS exhaust I picked up, and mine came out to 40.85 lbs.
I happened to check if magnetic, the mufflers are but the pipes are not. (From what I know, T409 is magnetic while T304 is not)
@jdezee overland designs will make a shift boot that fits the acuity Esco collar so it doesn’t bunch up, and I can confirm it works really well, looks and feels great. Just leave him a note in checkout and/or shoot him a message and he will get it right.
Absolutely loving my ESCO, it’s more slender in the hand than it looks in pictures but it’s not too short and not too tall. The titanium weight is 310g and feels solid with the base bushings.
I have a question for @EdgeAutosport, do you know if the Cobb ecu unlock is the same as the Hondata? Like if you have Cobb unlock your ECU to use an Accessport, can you later unmarry the Accessport and then just install a Flashpro?
Thanks!
These are experienced Cobb tuners trying to introduce themselves to the Honda community now that Cobb is supporting new platforms. It doesn’t have to be for everyone, and you could say so without being so rude and accusatory.
Congrats @Chrisfl5, keep us up to date with the progress. What mods did you have for your custom tune? Did you get unlimited stock turbo revisions or any additional fuel options?
Yes, boost blue with PRL RMM lol. No plans for suspension for the time being. I’m considering the shop in Carlisle PA that does ECU unlocking because that’s a reasonable drive away, but that’s probably some years out.
Nope haven’t installed, got some gold insulated tape to wrap the box, might decide to also install shifter cable bushings while it’s out, just stockpiling parts while it’s too cold to install. I did also buy an infrared space heater for the garage lol
Might also wait until after I get the...
I’m dumb, I forgot to test if the filter can actually fit through the front inlet, I was just thinking about whether it could come off the velocity stack. I’m actually skeptical it will fit thru but unfortunately that’ll have to wait a couple weeks til I’m back in town.
