  1. Type R at MSRP

I know the feeling. All ended well with obtaining my car too, but there were definitely feelings of shock and bewilderment during and after the process of it. My mind was spinning from it for a day or two too. It was just…not how I expected things to go. You’ll be fine. I think once your FK8...
  2. Type R at MSRP

Yep. And technically they’re not lying. There’s always another buyer out there…somewhere.?
  3. Poor FL5 Owner

Yeah the whole “financing is for poor people” statement is just a dumb thing that rich, ignorant, people say. LOL! And even if getting a CTR was a stretch for you and not a prudent financial decision, that’s your business! The best and most difficult lessons in life are often learned by making...
  4. Cheap Wheels Thread

@optronix I guess you’ve never spent much time up north. Hahaha! Potholes, ESPECIALLY after winter, can be absolutely horrendous. I’ve seen potholes so huge they have F’d up not only people’s wheels but also their suspension. It’s crazy. Not saying 18’s would survive something that extreme, but...
  5. Cheap Wheels Thread

Speaking of how difficult (impossible?) it is to find aftermarket 18” or 19” wheels with a +60 offset, it kinda made me realize that taking care of my stock 19’s needs to be a top priority. I plan on keeping this car for a looooong time. I love the stock wheels too. Maybe I should just get a 2nd...
  6. Cheap Wheels Thread

Yeah, to all the above, plus people are getting 18’s because they’re more daily-able ; Less worries about potholes. Keep in mind the FL5 doesn’t come with a spare. @optronix
  7. Sunflower Civic?

Lulu looks good. Not my cup of tea, but it’s cool to see something different and see the progression. Enjoy!
  8. Type R at MSRP

Yeah! ? It’s definitely a different world now vs pre-pandemic when buying a car. In the “What do you regret” thread, I listed : Not being more prepared to deal with my dealership, as pretty much my only regret. I hadn’t bought a new car since fall 2019, so I was pretty clueless to the way the...
  9. Type R at MSRP

Yeah, MSRP is not a regular thing yet…and might never be. Those who got theirs at MSRP were either lucky or have an outstanding relationship with their dealership or both.
  10. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

Definitely share your unboxing and installation pics and impressions for us. ?
  11. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

Do you have a link? I’ve never heard of fx3d
  12. Cheap Wheels Thread

@Clark_Kent Totally agree. I also look for quality first. I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon, but it’s a blue collar mentality that my dad and grandad passed down to me ; Buy quality tools and stuff and it won’t let you down! I don’t understand the point of buying poorly made, cheap...
  13. Cheap Wheels Thread

Yeah, Enkei wheels are probably the least expensive I’ve seen anyone on this forum use. It makes sense. Most people who now have an FL5 have paid well over $50k for the car OTD. At that point, another $2k-$3k for a nice Enkei setup is reasonable. It isn’t so much about wine and cheese, I don’t...
  14. Coming from an Elantra N

I actually kind of like the looks of the EN. I wouldn’t say it’s pretty, but it is unique and the car’s stance and proportions look better in person than in pics. With that said, I’d buy an Si over an EN all day every day as a relatively low cost, fun, yet practical, car. The Si is simply better...
  15. Seat Question

One can have large hips and legs because they’re athletic and like to squat and deadlift. The seat bolsters are not just a “overweight people problem” and I’m still getting used to them myself. They do kind of push into the sides of my legs which isn’t super comfortable. Be careful with that...
  16. Civic Type R vs. Porsche 911

I would say jealousy is actually the thief of joy, but it often starts with comparisons. It’s how one accesses the comparisons and lets the info affect them (or not) that matters.
  17. Civic Type R vs. Porsche 911

@GreenMachineGTE OK I’ll bite. The FL5 has better seats than very early Koenigseggs (CCR development), which were made of memory foam. Great idea except in the Swedish winters they were as hard as concrete.? Of course they’re heated now, at least as an option, for those who have cold winters.
  18. Civic Type R vs. Porsche 911

@GreenMachineGTE I think we all do. But comparisons between greatness will always be made with anything and everything. No one compares mediocrity. That’s no fun.?
  19. Civic Type R vs. Porsche 911

I’ve never heard anyone say “You didn’t drive the right 911” until today.? I think the right 911 is always the one you have access to drive, amirite?
  20. Where can I buy an oem FL5 full leather steering wheel

99% Verified. I checked with a highly reliable source here on the forum, who checked with his parts department guy. I bet some will know who I’m referring to based on that short description, but I didn’t want to tag him for fear that people would start flooding his inbox with similar requests...
