  1. Where to source US carbon parts?

@Clark_Kent Yes, that source through Facebook (Ike Honda) collects sales tax, at least for IL sales, which makes sense. My delivered price on the CF wing ended up being about the same as going thru College Hills Honda (for example).
  2. Where to source US carbon parts?

Yes. The red weave is Honda OEM for all regions
  3. Where to source US carbon parts?

The only USDM carbon part you can get is the wing. You can source this from any Honda dealership/ parts supplier. The matching door inserts and shifter trim have to be imported. Be sure to get left hand drive for the shifter trim. I’m getting mine imported from Dream Automotive in the UK next...
  4. VTEC History

@Jester04, I may have to walk-back my “K24’s aren’t really screamers” statement. This car is amazing.
  5. Flapfab Stone Guards

If you’re going for a new N-ring record they might matter 0.28%. For street driving they might matter 0.028%. This is just a rough guesstimate. LOL!
  6. What about the FL5 do you regret?

No regrets. There’s nothing about the FL5 that would have made me change my decision to get one. The only regret I have is maybe not being more prepared for the negotiating process…though I’m not sure what I could’ve done differently. From day 1, I did all negotiating in person. I knew this...
  7. Honda CF Wing specs?

Yeah I just tightened my CF wing by feel, based on removal feel of the bolts of the stock wing. Indeed, no specs came in the box. I made it tight and secure, but was careful not to over tighten it. This is not technical whatsoever, but keep in mind the wing is not under a lot of stress. There’s...
  8. Questions for built FL5 owners

I was really enjoying the convo ; Says a lot about everyone’s years of tuning/building experience. It’s great. Folks will certainly be watching your build threads.
  9. The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

@CivicR38 I am not at all surprised this sales tactic still works. It has been proven time and again that there’s a large swathe of Americans who don’t understand finances, budgeting, etc. etc. They’re making it mandatory to learn in high school now, which is great. I recall reading that the...
  10. Driver door panel starting to poke out when closing the window

All Hondas (and Acuras) I have ever owned have rattling windows (when down about 50%). ALL OF THEM. I don’t know why Honda continues to build their window mechanisms this way, but it has nothing to do with god randomly caving-in your door panels. LOL!!! Hope he/she can fix it for you though. It...
  11. PSA - Watch for Spoiler Interference with Garage Doors!

It is indeed very tall. I think it gets nearly as close to hitting the garage door as our MDX’s lift gate. There’s maybe just an inch or two of clearance, Clarence.?
  12. PSA - Watch for Spoiler Interference with Garage Doors!

A fix would be to back the car into the garage. Takes a little longer, but when you get used to doing it, it’s NBD. Zero worry of the spoiler hitting the garage door anymore.
  13. Whats your other car in addition to your CTR?

@SKINNIE We didn’t think we wanted a minivan either until we tested it then bought our first one. We had a 2nd gen CRV prior and loved that vehicle. But we needed something bigger, safer, still economical, and easier to get kids and all their stuff in/out. Note, my wife was happy to be done with...
  14. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

Yeah, I have plastic pry tools and used a flat head as it seemed the better way to go. I still ended up imploding 2 of the fasteners. They just wouldn’t come out without implosion.?
  15. Whats your other car in addition to your CTR?

@CyberCTR We’ve owned 2 Odysseys. They’re really unbeatable for versatile and practical family haulers. The sliding doors are an absolute godsend. Not only does this make entry and egress easier, there’s zero worry of the kids mindlessly swinging doors open and slamming them into someone’s car...
  16. Center Hug Rings

Not sure what you mean? I didn’t know there was a wrong way to mount wheels…unless you don’t torque the lugs in a star pattern to the correct spec…and use the correct lug nut seat design (conical vs ball). Is this what you mean?
  17. Tune/rev hang

Adjust your shifts (faster) for slow/casual driving when you’re not revving it high. In general, you want to keep this car around 2500 rpms or more. Base your shift timing on this and you should be able to largely avoid “jerking” per another thread on this topic.?
  18. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

@TW00Si Yes, I would if I was a new customer.
  19. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

Yup, definitely. I let Sukeban know the problem the day I tried installing them. The provided fasteners were simply not long enough (at least not for the thickest guards, which I bought). To be clear, the stock screws actually do 95% of the work. But to get the desired fit and finish, those 2...
  20. Flapfab vs Sukeban rock guards

Yeah, you can adjust the Sukebans to basically sit flush OR if you want to show them off you can make them stick out quite a bit. I went about half way, so they offer some good outward protection while not drawing too much attention. I like them better than I thought I would. They are indeed...
