@1971Camaro I think he’s laughing because they’re totally opposite vehicles. When I read it, I thought it was funny too. But I think I understand where you’re coming from. A Cayman would’ve been within budget despite nearly zero practicality. Maybe you were thinking about hitching a small...
Well the problem is some are still learning how to regulate the clutch and throttle in various low speed situations. Sometimes it makes sense to use 1st. Sometimes it make sense to use 2nd. But back to the OP’s original post, apparently there are a lot of people on Reddit providing...
Is there a way to confirm this is the CTR / Si / ITS steering wheel with red stitching? I believe all Civics (at least in NA) use the same black leather wheel but it normally has gray or black stitching, not the red stitching.
Yes, the dust collecting on the back bumper (by the lift gate) is normal. I don’t know the correct terminology off the top of the dome, but it has to do with aerodynamics and air pressure. Basically, dust collects there because there’s no air flow to blow it away.
@1971Camaro Yeah, it depends on the situation, the car (as you said), and the experience level of the driver. 1st or 2nd can be used somewhat interchangeably. One doesn’t always have to use 1st gear. That’s the thing that some novice drivers don’t understand and points to the root issue of the...
Yeah, with the valve open I think there’s a little more low rumble at low rpms. I’ve found it’s not a significant enough difference (to me), despite my initial excitement. But hey, it was easy and FREE to try it.
@Fresh I would chalk that one up to not paying attention to your shifts. Hahaha! It happens. 99% of the time if I grind a gear, it’s because I was distracted and lazy shifted (shifted too softly). If you notice this happening a lot, then take it to the dealership to check out. Also Amsoil MTF is...
@CTR So far the misfire on startup seems entirely random. Note it was pretty warm and humid the day it happened, though I did drive the car about every chance I got back in March and April (when it was much cooler out). I had the fuse out / valve open during those months too. I got my car in mid...
No. In fact I put my fuse back in before taking the car to the shop because I didn’t want them simply seeing the ECU’s exhaust valve error and blaming my “tampering” with the system as the absolute cause of the problem. You know that’s what they’d do is come to a quick cause and effect...
I agree with @Jester04 that there’s too many unknowns (as well as variables like fuel quality, air quality, temperature, time, location, etc.) to know what’s causing engine hesitation in some cases. That the valve is only there for sound and/or maybe emissions purposes are both reasonable...
@AspecR Very interesting data point that tracks with what you’ve been saying for awhile now, regarding FK8 vs FL5 numbers/availability over the same amount of time.
I surmise that getting a 2024 CTR vs a 2023, at this stage in the game, will only really matter to those who swap cars frequently...
Yep. Typically, any minor improvements made for the first couple of years are transparent to the consumer. Material/marketable improvements usually happen during a mid-model “refresh” as seen during the FK8’s production run. So, expect the 2023’s and 2024’s to be the same. 2025 is when to keep...
I think what @mbaapk means by “hacked up” is that it doesn’t look cohesive. There’s just a lot of different materials, colors, and finishes going on on a relatively small area.
Hmmm…makes me wonder if Honda decided to forego the map lights (upon opening the doors) since the FL5 has the red interior lights that somewhat serve this purpose? Still an odd omission not to give people the option to use the map lights, though.
Thanks…? Having now seen the ITS illuminated door sill trim, I regret that my FL5 illuminated door sill trim is not what it could’ve/should’ve been.? I still like it…but it is definitely underwhelming in comparison.
While not in the US owners manuals, wasn’t there a note in EU owners manuals that 1000 km is the recommended break-in period for the Type R? I’d have to dig around for it, but I recall seeing a specific note about this that didn’t get published in US manuals (for whatever reason). Likely an...
