  1. Steering Wheel Clicking Noise

Mine started after the last alignment was completed. Around 9000 miles/11 months. It's getting worse over time.
  2. What did you do to your FL5 today?

Installed a red-black carbon fiber GT-replica spoiler. It's 1.5 lbs lighter than the OE wing, but it certainly feels much less so while carrying it around. The style is growing on me. It's much less red in person than in the photos. The installation was slightly annoying, given the horizontal...
  3. What did you do to your FL5 today?

One year of ownership today. Just over 9,000 miles. I tried to see how much mileage I could squeeze out of this thing on my last tank, and it looks like I would have hit around 27-ish mpg if I let it use that last 3/4 gallon. If anything, the 93 tune is much more fuel-efficient.
  4. For those who are running a tune and have emissions inspection.

Your insurance rates likely have nothing to do with anything you specifically did, or even your car. Insurance companies are abusing inflation rates and "disasters" to inflate rates artificially. I was a zero-accident, no-ticket driver, and my rates on my 2017 Civic doubled in 2021. I changed...
  5. For those who are running a tune and have emissions inspection.

Fortunately, Texas no longer performs inspections, and only four counties still conduct emissions tests on the OBD2 to confirm the "READY" status of the EVAP and O2 sensors. When I failed my 2017 Civic's inspection after forgetting to turn the O2 sensors back on, I was given 12 days to fix it. I...
  6. What did you haul in your Type R today?

After making several trips to Home Depot, HEB, and the lakehouse, and after picking up fireworks, I wanted to start a thread like this. Glad to see it already exists. :D
  7. K&N Intake Installation Experience on FL5

Amazon. It's currently the same price I paid for it. https://amzn.to/4eu77dy
  8. K&N Intake Installation Experience on FL5

4th of July festivities and the rain and flooding near where I'm at, it wasn't a priority. Once it's dried out a little, I'll try to remember...
  9. K&N Intake Installation Experience on FL5

7000+ miles, about 2000mi on 93 tune. I'll pull the logs today. It's still running great.
  10. Mileage check-in.

7745 mi last fill up. 7/11/2024. Oil change at 1700 and 5700 (at home), and 7738 (free @ dealership). Manual fluid change at 7738. Tire rotation at 7738, 8mm rears to front, 7mm fronts to rears. Brake pads with 7mm front, 8mm rear. Return-to-office orders added a lot of miles last month.
  11. What did you do to your FL5 today?

A rock decided to take a nice chip out of the front edge of my spoiler. It's apparently white plastic underneath. So, that's nice. Guess it could be a worse part of of the car, but a white spot in the middle of a black spoiler is so damn visible... ?
  12. Cooling mods for the average Joe

I updated my original post to correct my flow statement. I don't know how moving the hot part of the radiator behind the intercooler is supposed to improve performance. Maybe it helps soak additional heat and dissipate it better at the top. Does the radiator become more or less able to absorb...
  13. The Tuned 11th gen Experience & Reliability Thread (for all models)

Vehicle: 2024 Civic Type R Total tuned time: 3 days Tuned miles driven: 300 Tuning device(s) used: Hondata FlashPro Tunes used: 93-Octane Hondata basemap Fuel used: 93 octane Additional related mods: K&N Intake, Infinity Design Carbon Fiber inlet tube, Funk turbo blanket Problems/issues...
  14. Cooling mods for the average Joe

Does anyone run the reverse-flow radiator hoses so the hot water goes into the top bottom of the radiator, not the bottom top, which is directly behind the intercooler? This is supposed to improve radiator and intercooler performance...
  15. Oklahoma FL5 Type R Hondata FlashPro Mini

Is it possible to see a picture of this connected to a laptop with a screen showing that it is not paired to an ECU?
  16. CEES Exhaust - Custom fab titanium exhaust

It looks like some company branded these in the US. Some clips are on the posting. I still haven't installed mine. It's been 90 fricken degrees on the weekends still. It sounds good when warm, but the cold startup sounds awful...
  17. Front Strut Bar

It makes a difference, but it will be a very personal experience. I like the feel—it slightly increases the steering wheel feedback and rigidity, and the dampening effect increases by sharing the load across the front struts. It feels more structurally rigid but softer at the same time. My full...
