If the FL5 corner exit was faster, that means it would've faster on the same corner exit on its timed lap anyway, so it's fine. Flying laps are pretty good at ironing out inconsistencies.
Sounds kinda anemic tbh
Where did he put the mic tho? No way it sounds like that in the cabin, even in an ME. It's not completely stripped out after all.
FWIW I want to test drive an FL5 before buying one. As much as I want one, I haven't drank enough Kool-Aid to be willing to drop $40k+ blindly. It's absolutely a great car, but I won't know if it's my kind of "great" until I sit in it.
ND drivetrain and chassis is also much, much less complex...
Absolutely agree. ND, for example, is a great car for daily use because Mazda designed it for compliance. You can live near terrible roads, but the car will still be fun to drive.
That said, I'm sure the FL5 will be great in that aspect as well, since the FK8 was already very good. Too many...
Ah yes, the obligatory RON/AKI explainer everyone forgets about.
I think the crap gas thing holds some water, though. Some places only get 87 AKI, and it's really bad 87. If Honda tunes for the eventuality that some owner will run into it in an emergency and end up in high altitude or...
I've tried the new RS3, which I believe is a similar platform. What can I say, it's nothing exciting. Just fast and heavy, but not particularly nimble.
For context, 3 of 4 cars in our stables are about 1 ton or less, 2 of them have hydraulic racks, and the other 2 have some of the best electric...
I like how people harp about the bad controls, but totally accept that driving the car is about as fun as pushing an iron around an ironing board.
I jest, but I can't be the only person who thinks VW's "sporty" products feel incredibly dull.
