Personally, I will not be caught dead in an automatic, unless it is my hearse...
Straight line acceleration is a lower priority for me. handling/suspension, driver engagement, and overall fun-to-drive are more important to me than 0-60 or 1/4 mile times
I own a CTR which I absolutely love...
I am also experiencing the disconnections. sometimes it will reconnect again in a few seconds, sometimes multiple disconnect/reconnect in a short while, sometimes it will remain disconnected until I turn the ignition off and on.
My phone is usually in my pocket, I do not have to use a USB cable...
I would not call it "super close" and I hate going into LA...
Anyway, the COBB process was quick and painless, remove ECU, insert into static bag, put into the box they sent, apply the included next day label, drop at UPS (using my wife's car). wait a while (UPS messed up and delivered two days...
I am going to get a custom tune, which probably will not be CARB compliant.
In seven years, when it is due for the first smog check, if necessary, I'll re-flash with COBB OTS Stage 1, which is compliant (and the stickers are on my ECU cover)
Though I doubt that the smog check facility can...
The nearest "local" last week was about 150 miles away...
The purchase included a shipping box (well padded and a static bag) two way next day air shipping, making shipping a good option for me.
The AccessPort came with two exemption stickers for the stage 1 tunes.
I'll guess I'll find out in four years when my first smog check will be required...
I went with COBB for two main reasons:
1- CARB compliant (has the CARB sticker)
2- Larger pipe equals more airflow, but as mentioned, requires a tune
I wanted to get a jailbreak and COBB AccessPort custom tune anyway, so that was not an issue for me
I just installed the Cobb redline intake and their OTS stage 1 + SF (91 octane in California).
So far I've only driven a short distance on the freeway, but I believe I could already feel a difference
Though it might be a placebo effect, after all, I >should< be noticing a difference for all...
I got the jailbroken ECU late last evening.
I was done installing the ECU, but after I tightened the negative battery cable, and pulled the ratchet off the bolt, the socket flew off the ratchet and fell into the engine bay...
I hate Murphy
I decided to remove the OEM air intake box, thinking...
No matter how gentle I believed I was, I snapped quite a few bolts in my life... the bolt extractor kit became one of my frequently used tools :-(
I then purchased these two torque wrenches:

I look up torque specs, set...
I purchased this 500cc syringe in the hope that I could use it to fill the fluid through the check plug
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPW9D75D
so far, I've only used it to suck all the coolant out of the OEM expansion tank prior to installing the PRL expansion tank. the syringe worked as advertised.
Thank you!
I should probably put on more miles on my DSC before considering more suspension mods, such as swaybar, stiffening plate, etc. though I'll probably never get lowering springs since as is I scrape the front of the car coming out of my driveway into the street.
I'll be the first to...
no, not yet.
I have not yet figured out how to get from the engine bay into the passenger compartment via the firewall. I know that there should be a plug, but I could not find it...
I've also been very busy lately, very little time to play with the car, and this relay is a relatively low...
Patience is a virtue, but it ain't one of mine.
Had I waited a few weeks, I could have saved $150 off my DSC...
Darn.
I love my DSC, it is everything good everyone says it is.
I'll be the first one to admit that I drive like an ape, and I am not a very attuned driver, but even I could tell a...
I don't have it yet :-(
I have no idea why but UPS held it for an extra day at the local UPS facility, and only delivered on Wed (two days) instead of Tuesday
I wrongly assumed next day air shipping both ways. but COBB shipped it back via UPS ground. though they did ship it on Wednesday, the...
