It’s Carb compliant but it has to be tuned to run it .
So wouldn’t that make it difficult to pass smog ?
Don’t know just asking 👍🏻
Probably need a CARB compliant tune which tend to be pretty lackluster from what I hear.

PRL is also CARB compliant (They'll send you the CARB sticker if you don't have it)

Most people aren't going to require that amount of airflow. I wouldn't want to have to be locked into tuning if I didn't have to be. PRL intake and a local Hondata jailbreak event means you don't need to ship your ECU anywhere.
not very many jailbreak events scheduled right now though.

A bunch of west coast events just passed and they are doing the east coast now. There are also tuning shops that can do it like IMW. My statement wasn't specific to California.

That’s great news ! I know when I bought mine a year or so ago PRL was working on making it CARB compliant when I called and asked. It’s nice to know they followed through with it and just shows how great there Products are and Customer service 👍🏻

The AccessPort came with two exemption stickers for the stage 1 tunes.

I'll guess I'll find out in four years when my first smog check will be required...

The nearest "local" last week was about 150 miles away...

The purchase included a shipping box (well padded and a static bag) two way next day air shipping, making shipping a good option for me.

In Cali I don’t think you have to smog a new car for 8 years.

I am going to get a custom tune, which probably will not be CARB compliant.

In seven years, when it is due for the first smog check, if necessary, I'll re-flash with COBB OTS Stage 1, which is compliant (and the stickers are on my ECU cover)

Though I doubt that the smog check facility can tell if I am using the custom map or the compliant stage 1 map...

I wish Hondata would let you drop in for jailbreaks at their hq in Torrance. That's super close (I'm in Ventura County like you) and can get some good food while out there making the trip more than worth it.

I would not call it "super close" and I hate going into LA...

Anyway, the COBB process was quick and painless, remove ECU, insert into static bag, put into the box they sent, apply the included next day label, drop at UPS (using my wife's car). wait a while (UPS messed up and delivered two days not next day), install ECU. done.

well, not quite done... after I was all done, put the negative battery cable on and tightened it, the socket flew off the ratchet wrench and fell into the engine bay as I pulled the wrench off the battery bolt...

I hate Murphy

I jacked the car, removed HTP cooling tray and Bad Ann LV protector, but did not see or feel it. tapped variou under body plastic pieces and attempted to listen for the socket bouncing, nothing. used a magnet on the plastic trim to see if it can stick to anything, nothing.

So I assumed it did not go all the way down, and looked again from the top, nothing seen or could be fished with a magnet retrieval tool (magnet on the end of a flexible rod)

Well, since I was going to install the COBB Redline Carbon Fiber Intake, I figured out why not now, so removed the stock OEM airbox, looked inside, nothing.

I jacked up the car again and started removing plastic trim pieces from under the car by the wheel well, until the socket fell out.

I ended up finishing the airbox installation and flushing the ECU at 4am...
