  1. Advice on driving the Type R

Not having autorevmatch on is like watching all your friends get a new toy as a kid and being stuck with an old one lol. The autorevmatch just makes this car shift so well!
  2. Advice on driving the Type R

I try my best to downshift to second and then throw it into neutral for stops, is that best practice, or should I downshift all the way down when stopping? Currently I'm not good enough to go from like 5-4-3-2-1-N via downshifts, so instead I do 5-4-3-N or some variation. Only time I can...
  3. Advice on driving the Type R

Haha I felt pretty bad today, stalled 4 times, twice at a stop light with people behind me and twice by myself in front of a stop sign ? The day I can drive to work and back without stalling once I'll consider myself pretty good ?
  4. Advice on driving the Type R

Been doing it since Sunday (so three days) and it's not that bad in all honesty, just so long as I'm not trying to go fast or heel toeing (which I'm not). Just kinda wait for the rpms to settle to right point then let the clutch out. The rpm hold that auto rev match did has affected me waaaaaay...
  5. Advice on driving the Type R

When people saying lugging, what exactly is the mechanical process happening? Is it just that the rpms are too low for the gear? Does it actually do anything bad? I try to avoid it by dropping down a gear but if it doesn't do anything besides make the car drive funny, then I'd be less worried
  6. Advice on driving the Type R

The rev match autorevs (and does so perfectly), but I take it there's still room for improvement based on the intentions of you shifting down (ie: to speed back up or to engine brake), at least that's my understanding. Only driven stick for a week now ?
  7. New York Aftermarket Part Out

Updated listing, reduced prices, all parts are now off the car too
  8. First oil change poll?

Sounds like a plan, will likely switch once I'm off the service pass
  9. First oil change poll?

Why the 5w-30 when you don't drive on the track? I remember reading that 27won article about how 5w-30 is only useful in high stress situations for the engine (ie: WOT for 20 minutes on the track), daily drivers and even modded cars do fine running stock thickness and weight
  10. Advice on driving the Type R

That's the same thing I had seen online, that more torquey motors were easier to move from a stop to 1st. The anti-stalling makes more sense though
  11. How much have you spent on mods?

Hah you're right, if been waiting since January, that was just my final push ?
  12. How much have you spent on mods?

Already bit the bullet, saw the writing on the wall when the tariff thing happened imo
  13. How do you keep your type R clean?

Definitely looks better from far away, it's also nice that I can finally see the details of the civic instead of a black mass of shapes. Now if only the car didn't look terrible after it rained!
  14. Advice on driving the Type R

Tried that today and it worked like a charm. Shifting without the rev match system makes the quirks of each gear so much more apparent. I'm still debating if I'll turn it back on in the long run, but it definetly would make the car faster - not to mention it will be perfect with downshifts...
  15. First oil change poll?

Not the oil debate! I plan on doing 600-700 once my CTR gets there, then 3k-5k depending on driving habits.
  16. Advice on driving the Type R

It's definitely nice, but in my case I feel like I should learn how to rev march myself before relying on it. Definitely overwhelming for me now, couldn't imagine it with size 14 feet ?
  17. Advice on driving the Type R

That makes sense, I've been driving a bit more and have gotten better, but 2-3-4-5-6 is way harder
  18. Advice on driving the Type R

Turned off my biggest set of training wheels today, the auto rev match. I can't help but feel (and see) that I've gone back a whole 4 days in skill. Rev matching on downshifts takes 90% of my brain power haha. I find myself drifting out of my lane as I try to do it. I've only actually done it...
  19. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

Yeah I don't think it's coming any time soon if it is, tariffs were the nail in the coffin
