Yeah, I definitely don’t think a Civic, even in Type R trim, is a true sports car, like the NSX. But I do think that the R, at least initially, was to be a “track ready” variant of the Civic. I do use Track Ready loosely, as I understand that can mean a lot of different things to different...
I don’t know if that’s a completely accurate statement. Maybe to people only old enough to really know the FK8, but if you go back through the overall history of the Type R, from the NSX, Integra, and Civic, it’s pretty easy to see that your viewpoint is a fairly new one. All of those vehicles...
I know Ford has said they are doing everything they can to handle dealers who markup. I know some dealerships have been know to put miles on their vehicle so they can then sell them as used vehicles, and then throw massive markups at them.
As for your 2019 Type R, don’t let anyone hear you got...
At least in my area, no dealership has said specifics, until they have allotments, but some have vaguely claimed that there will be one. That’s all I’ve gotten so far.
Considering it will most certainly end up being the same motor, with very similar horsepower, and like you said, in a chassis we already know pretty well, it does seem strange that they have stretched this out since January… it would be one thing if there was some big surprising payoff, but I...
Seems like either the FL5 will handle slightly better than the FK8, but have basically the same power output, or it will have a slight power bump, maybe 315-325hp, but handle slightly worse than the FK8.
Ok Mmmbop.
I’ll fix that.
get ready everyone, this Type R is gonna be impossible to get, and they’re all gonna be insanely marked up, probably like $20k. Good luck!
Now, I sound just like everyone else. ?
What is the point of a forum if you can’t debate or discuss things? And does everyone have to have the exact same opinion? If by drama you mean, I don’t have the same opinion as you, then I guess I’m full of drama. Or maybe, I just disagree with peoples assertions and am attempting to show a...
I agree with you 100%. I have no doubt this car will be hard to get, and that dealerships all over will try to take advantage. I am simply saying, it is not impossible.
May be sold out, but in terms of what’s built and available, that you can drive, and that isn’t just a number on a sheet...
Maybe at some point they do, but not right now, and per your previous point, on supply and demand, that shouldn’t matter… right now, the supply is incredibly low based on demand…
Either way, we will see. I don’t think every single type R sold will have a minimum $20k markup.
I said fear...
Not arguing with you, that there will be markups and some crazy ones too. Just saying they won’t all be that way. I know someone who got a new Ford Lightning at MSRP, and I guarantee they sell more F-150s than Type Rs… in this market… so explain that?
