We could at least guess… I think I read that a little over 19,000 were sold in the US from 2017-2021, and Canada is about 1/10 the population of the US, so maybe in the neighborhood of 1,900 total or 390/year…
Which, when put in perspective, makes these extremely small numbers people are...
I don’t expect it to be all over the place, shoot the FK8, after all these years, is still not a car I see “all over the place”, but I see no reason why, based on speculations, Honda won’t build similar 4-6k Type Rs a year in the US.

Yeah, we are in different times, but the GR Corolla is planning on 6,600/year, and the Golf R will be making plenty too. Can’t imagine Honda is the only car manufacturer, who’s like, “sorry, we are in different times.”

Sounds awesome, but I’m trying to understand how dealers are making promises like this, when the car hasn’t even debuted? I guess in Canada, they get all the info before the rest of the world?
You’re right, and I think like others have said, there will be an increase, and it will probably be around $40-42k…but if they just go crazy, they would price themselves out of their competition. I mean the Golf R MSRP is what, $44-45k? And it’s AWD… I can’t see them topping that?

You’re telling me, the 2023 Type R, in USD, will sell for $58-$60k MSRP? And this car is basically similar to the FK8, with more than likely similar power, and that one sold for mid $30k MSRP? I call BS
And I’m pretty sure over 2017-2021 they sold 20,000 Type Rs in the US, which would be around 4,000 a year. So if it extrapolates based off what Canada is doing, and we get 3,276 per year, that’s not too far off the FK8, right?
Why don’t we wait until they come out and we see what types of markups happen, across the board, before we make any assumptions on just how big markups will be.
