I've attached one of the spots, but it's hard to show the depth of the damage on my phone. There are other scuffs up the side of this particular panel. I took it back today and they are going to repair it with an upholster vendor that can fix plastic tomorrow. Not sure why they aren't replacing...
I just had mine done today. For reference, it took 3 hours to do. I opted to sit and wait (I'm an hour from the dealer) and they came back in and said it looked like it could take 3 to 4 hours. The seat does feel more rigid/solid when getting in the car than before. I wasn't expecting that...
Just called my dealer this morning and they were already aware of my car needing it. I have an appointment on Monday to get it replaced: just in time for my next event. I was contemplating skipping any autocross or track events until this was taken care of out of concern for safety. The...
Nice write up! I'm hoping to make it down to Road Atlanta later this year (work pending) and it's great to hear about your experiences in the FL5 there.
I've heard that removing the scoop underneath the hood vent helps with temps on track (and that it is more of a rain guard) . I haven't had...
Sorry that I've been a bit quiet on here. Here is a video I made of one of the first events. It could use some polishing, but it was fun to put together. I did some exaggerated driving to see where the limits of the car were and to get a good idea of where I could get the FL5 "caught out" at...
Thanks! We have lost a couple over the years and it seems to get harder every year to find a suitable place. Currently, our region is paring up with a couple other clubs while we continue searching for a new home for autocrossing.
Just do it! It's a lot of fun, easy to get into and the community is very helpful and supportive. I've done 7 events in this car so far and I'm still on the stock tires (as well as stock everything else). That will be changing, but I wanted to get in tune with the car in stock form first...
I had a bit of an idea this morning. I love going over build threads and seeing everyone's progress on their car, but I don't see threads on performance/competitive driving and someone's progress in that regard. In my opinion, these are just as exciting. Plus, I will be doing more driving...
I've noticed that when I have the LogR guages on, it will say "Not Ready" for the data logging part (up top on the screen) until things are up to temp. During an autocross, it's only when moving my car to grid that it shows (the car is cold), but it doesn't say that in between runs (the car is...
My region put me in DS at the last event temporarily (we can move me in the results if needed) and I was 1st out of 6. I figured it would have caused a stink (all Frisbees but me), but I would have finished with a larger margin in BS had I run that class. Granted, this was a local, non-points...
Most people are better served with a nice set of springs and dampers than a coilover setup. Unfortunately, there are a good amount of "cheap" coilover sets that carry a premium price tag and lure people into thinking they're getting something good.
I've been curious about the BS vs. DS classing myself. I think it's somewhere in between (too much for D but not enough for B), but time will tell.
My build thread is going to look similar to yours; Boost Blue autocrossing and doing TT. Our numbers almost match as well lol (white with a red...
I was curious if ones for the FK8 would fit. It's one of the first mods I want to do. My Mustang would pull a lot through the PCV. Thanks for testing it out!
I'm super happy to see a bunch of you receiving your cars! I haven't been on the forum for a few days (between driving the car and the holidays) and I was hopeful others (especially tuhroo) had taken delivery.
Hopefully, later batches won't run into these delivery issues, at least to this...
Endures 2.5 month long wait for the car, then voluntarily self-inflicts more waiting :p
I'm also pulling for you to get yours by sometime tomorrow! It was a big weight off my shoulders once I got the call it came in. I was worried the shipping ordeal was going to cast a shadow over the...
I was out of eraser, but I did have 70% alcohol in a spray bottle. I tried Goo Gone after realizing I was out of Eraser and it didn't do much. The alcohol did the trick quite easily!
How did you get that sticky stuff off? I have remnants of it in a handful of places. Some of it comes off like very fine/thin plastic, but others you almost have to pick at it. In thinking of Goo-Gone or a rubbing alcohol on a towel.
