Your battery is probably on its way out. I recommend topping off the water, which may give you a bit of extra life. Autozone can conduct a free battery test to check status. Assuming its bad, get it replaced under warranty before it dies completely and your warranty is up.
I recommend installing hood pins if you plan on running at high speeds. Carbon fiber is very strong in tension, but relies on epoxy (or similar polymer) in bending (shear). Epoxy has a small fraction the strength of the OEM aluminum hood.
On past cars I've used 1/4" mesh galvanized chicken wire. Just painted it black and zip tied behind the grill opening. Doesn't block flow and prevented rock impacts. A small roll is $17 at Home Depot.
I've also used this chicken wire to keep mice out of the airbox intake and cabin exit vents...
The FL5 is a driver's car. I recommend buying something else or taking a Waymo if you're not fully driving. And even Wayno's, with a ton more sensors than the FL5, crash.
The above is my perspective as a cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian, and driver, also knowing a Waymo killed a pedestrian...
I'm using a Mishimoto PCV can and it definitely captures oil.
- Several tablespoons of the OEM fill over 4k miles.
- About 1/4 cup of Pennzoil Platinum (natural gas version) 5W-30 over 5k miles. Catch can was 75% full.
I'm in a hot desert climate, so no water heat required.
The emblems come covered in plastic wrap and it looks like your wrap was never removed. I've bought emblems as separate parts and this is the way I received them. I peeled the wrap off before installation.
I bought the WOT cooling plate and temperatures appear lower overall, enough to not worry about localized inlets on the OEM plate.
Unlike the factory plate, the WOT supplied fasteners are high quality with no hint of backing off. My son's FK8 is always missing at least one fastener at oil...
I'd advise against high speed cornering without a rear wing, since it provides aero downforce.
I made the mistake of adding an air dam to another car without adding a rear spoiler. High speed handling at the limit became unexpectedly exciting.
The UK FL5 owners manual shows 5W-30 acceptable in all weather.
5W-30 provides a thicker oil film, better protecting rod and main bearings (especially important at low rpm). The crank journal literally skis on an oil film, and it sinks closet to the bearings at high load/low rpm.
0W-20 is...
I'd recommend a second set of wheels in 18" and the tallest sidewall that fits.
I ran Dunlop performance winter tires on a previous car. Wet/dry handling was quite good, but ice traction was lacking compared to non-performce Blizzaks.
From my experience Blizzak and Michelin X-Ice are much...
A bad outer CV joint makes a clacking noise in tight turns. Sounds like large ball bearings knocking together.
I've only replaced Honda CV axles due to drag racing starts.
New 2025 inventory in my area is scarce per Honda's website. However, I see a fair number of used FL5's at reasonable prices on Cars.com (for example).
You can turn most of the safety stuff and fake sound off and it stays off in individual mode. On the 1 or 2 remaining systems, you can change the threshold to the point where they rarely do anything. The dealer won't do this for you, but it's easy enough through the menus.
I recently removed...
There are 3D scanning cellphone apps that combine camera images. KIRI Engine was one I saw advertised.
I'm not sure how accurate they are, but 10 years ago a guy at work scanned a turbo impeller with his iPhone and the resulting model looked quite good.
We had light scanners at work good within...
I had my steering rack recall done a month ago (by Germain Honda, Surprise, AZ) and the car was ready in less than 40 minutes. I declined the free inspection and carwash. No issues.
