  1. JDML3IA Turns 1 Year Old! Mod List added - Weekend+Track Build Journal

I'm passing on Laguna Seca. It's a 4+ hour drive, full weekend and requires a hotel, which is already a high bar, but their handling of the Skyline incident was the dealbreaker. I don't want to support a track that won't own up to its mistakes. Post some pics and vids if you go. I’m planning to...
  2. BuntaTypeR Boost Blue Build

eventually it’ll probably happen anyway, especially since i probably won’t be driving this car around as much now because my wife is already complaining about how bumpy it is.
  3. BuntaTypeR Boost Blue Build

chewerks and the jsr plaza entrance have some pretty crazy bumps. i know chewerks moved, so maybe the new spot is better now, but still. i’m sure a lot of people can angle their car just right and avoid scraping, but i already scrape with only an inch drop and no front splitter. i do my best to...
  4. BuntaTypeR Boost Blue Build

im thinking about getting the Racebreed front splitter (blackfriday sale), but I don’t know if it’ll survive my track days or my steep driveway šŸ˜…. Socal roads are sketchy sometimes, random debris, dips, and I could easily crack it going somewhere I’m not familiar with. A lot of tuner shops have...
  5. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

I replaced my 2 yr old OEM battery because it started causing errors. Although, I could still drive the car after charging it but with christmas light dashboard error. swapped it out for a Duralast Platinum H5-EFB battery for peace of mind.
  6. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

I’ve spent a total of $450 across two Honda dealerships. The first one couldn't figure out the issue but still charged me $225. I then took it to a second dealer who charged another $225 and finally fixed it.
  7. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

Checked with the Honda dealership and they confirmed this is normal behavior on newer Hondas. If the battery dies, the car typically needs to be brought in. It’s all fixed now. posting the video here in case it helps anyone else.
  8. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

I had a cheap Amazon charger that I didn't realize stopped charging once the battery was full. I've since bought a new charger that no longer has that issue.
  9. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

thanks. ive messaged my tuner. hopefully, that fixes it.
  10. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

A JSR tune is just a Hondata calibration file. It does not control: ADAS modules Cameras BCM EPS / VSA Radar cruise CAN gateway logic My issue is dash errors after battery death, the tune is probably not the root cause. Correct my if my logic is wrong?
  11. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

I don’t think it’s the battery since I was able to recharge it and drive the car fine when I got back. I swapped in a new battery just for peace of mind. Honda didn’t say it was the battery either. They confirmed something is draining it fast, and it looks like the 360 camera, so I unplugged...
  12. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

I’ve driven the car well over 100 miles total and also disconnected and reconnected the battery multiple times because the errors kept showing up. When I said I drove it more than 100 miles, I meant I drove about 70 miles, turned the car off, then drove another 70 miles, turned it off again, and...
  13. Multiple Errors After Dead Battery – Type R (No Codes, Won’t Clear)

Before this issue started, the car had zero problems. In late December, before leaving for vacation, I connected my Type R to a battery charger so the battery wouldn’t die. The car has two known battery drains: • oil temp gauge (always on) • 360° camera system When I got back later in...
  14. Streets of Willow (renovated) track day - night run . Cooling testing

I can’t really speak for autocross, but from my experience attending a few events, it definitely feels safer in the open lot and lower speeds. On my tracks, I’m seeing speeds anywhere from 110 mph up to 149 mph, with some corners taken at around 125 mph. I’ve tried running higher psi, like 35...
  15. Streets of Willow (renovated) track day - night run . Cooling testing

I’m currently running 25 psi cold and about 30 psi hot. I’ve also tested 30 psi cold and 35 psi hot, but I feel that setup didn’t give me enough grip. I can probably go lower than 30psi hot but it eats the inner tires more/faster.
  16. Choosing a radiator for occasional track days, help

I’d pick WOT, but that alone won’t solve the cooling issues (depending on the weather temp). You’ll still need dual engine oil coolers and proper airflow. The HEL setup isn’t enough, I tried that one first, and it couldn’t keep temps under control.
