I'd say to not let that influence your buying decision. Any aftermarket exhaust from a seemingly reputable manufacturer is going to easily pickup the marginal improvement that is available over the factory "catback". As far as the exhaust goes, the only notable gains are in the downpipe. I...
The PRL HVI is the most notable option because it is the one we have thoroughly tested and will be positioned at the best cost for most, $399. Because I am sure it will come up.... this intake is expected to start shipping in March.
I do not have any hands on experience with it myself, but I...
To be honest that is a comical claim for any intake on any Honda.
Probably not much different. Eventuri's design unfortunately suffers from the same choke point as the factory air box. If they want to move more air it needs a way in. There are a couple of other aftermarket intakes out there...
PRL vs Hasport 62A -> PRL has significantly less NVH
Hasport 70, 80, etc of course have even more NVH
Mixing and matching is fine. Consider that if you only install the rear mount (most common) you are mixing it with the factory mounts and there is no trouble.
370whp on a tuned FL5 with supporting modifications is definitely what I would consider within the "margin of error". All dynos are different, all cars are different, fuel variables, etc.
Thanks for checking. April is correct. It is a high demand product and because we have such high production standards the rate of production is not always able to keep up with the demand. Most of our existing orders should ship over the next month but new orders are not expected to ship until April.
It sounds like you are well on your way to a proper tune for your ECU. You can expect this to be taken care of for you at that point, assuming you are working with Derek on the tune or going with our TSP FL5 Stage 1 tune that he prepared for us.
I will note that if you do end up with...
Awesome!
I strongly recommend the Milltek Resonated exhaust system for the FL5 when paired with an aftermarket downpipe. (this is what I have on my car) The resonator and the valve keep things in check. No drone, very comfortable volume. If you pair the non-resonated exhaust with an aftermarket...
When pairing our HEDP with the factory "catback" I think a subtle improvement in sound is well stated. You are going to pick up noticeable performance gains with or without a tune but as always you can count on a tune to maximize the power gains.
I would not expect any big changes in either...
It can end up being quite a tangled web! Choosing any catted downpipe over catless is a responsible choice and a smart one for many reasons and it is unfortunate that most catted downpipes do not satisfy what the ECU wants to see based upon emissions regulations. As noted by Jester above, our...
I can confirm this is not correct, in such a case the ECU would not achieve readiness. Hondata takes federal emissions regulations quite seriously and attempting to evade regulations is not good for any of us in the community that enjoy what we do and want to see it remain a viable thing long term.
I ran the Radium PCV side can for several thousands miles on my FL5 including a track session and hardly caught any oil, just a drop or two. The car makes approximately 500whp and I do not take it easy. I have a hard time recommending one after all of that. I took it out of the car when...
