  1. Initial impressions: FL5 vs. GR Yaris vs. ND2 Miata

The Yaris is firm but far from punishing even on bad city roads, though the Civic for me is a better ride-handling balance for a daily driver
  2. Initial impressions: FL5 vs. GR Yaris vs. ND2 Miata

I'd consider switching to 18s on the FL5 to soften the ride!
  3. Rear seat removal = weight reduction

    Why not lithium battery?
  4. Initial impressions: FL5 vs. GR Yaris vs. ND2 Miata

I was worried that the FL5 would be too stiff for daily use, but I was really quite surprised at how nicely it rides in Comfort mode even on terrible roads. My wife has no issues with the ride comfort, what a relief haha
  5. Initial impressions: FL5 vs. GR Yaris vs. ND2 Miata

Took out these three beauties back-to-back today and man they are all amazing. My quick impressions on how they compare against each other: FL5: + Just feels supremely polished overall in ways big and small -- the engine, steering, clutch, brakes, shifter... but just as notably, things like...
  6. What imperfection you see in the FL5?

Rear-mounted battery is great, such batteries last muuuuuch longer without the engine bay heat
  7. New Owner Observation / Stories

Adding a negative to my otherwise glowing impression on the FL5: the rear camera is rather crappy, low resolution and the view is too fish-bowly
  8. Fitment Advice -18" DD Setup

Saw this on the BBS Japan website: BBS RI-A055 https://bbs-japan.co.jp/en/products/category/vehicle/HONDA/FL5::2463244/ 18 x 9.5, 50 offset, forged ... looks like an ideal 18" downsize option
  9. New Owner Observation / Stories

I just realized that the FL5 has a tiny fuel tank lol. Just 47 liters / 12.4 gallons, about the same as a much smaller (and more economical) ND Miata. Oh well, a trivial matter in the greater scheme of things I guess
  10. Fitment Advice -18" DD Setup

Pleasantly surprised at how good the ride quality is in Comfort mode with the stock wheels and tires. For those who have downsized to 18s, would you say the improvement in ride quality is significant?
  11. New Owner Observation / Stories

Haha thanks, but don't feel too bad -- you got an AP1 as well as a beautiful country! The GR Yaris is an amazing thing, the Jimny is downright terrible but everyone adores it lol
  12. New Owner Observation / Stories

My initial impressions; I bought the car primarily as a vehicle that is as close to a practical four-seat sports car as I can find. Positives: 1. Feels like an extremely polished product overall. All of the things you will be interacting with a lot feel nice and solid and practically at par...
  13. Can 3-seat rear bench from Civic hatchback be fitted to FL5?

Thanks! I suppose it could be done if you really want to. Though I just noticed that there are no charging points at the rear. A pity, especially for such an expensive car. Surely a couple of USB ports wouldn't weigh anything lol
  14. Can 3-seat rear bench from Civic hatchback be fitted to FL5?

The FL5 is amazing, but one of the things that really baffles me is why Honda insists on putting only a two-seat bench in the CTR. I'm interested in an FL5 mainly for its practicality as far as specialty cars go, so does anyone know if a standard 3-seat bench and center seat belt from a Civic...
