First experience with the Yokohama v601 on the track. You don’t hear much about them but i was really impressed. Felt like more grip than the stock PS4S in the dry at least. Very predictable and no issues at all. Took a little bit to warm up but price vs performance I’m a big fan of them.

This was a brilliant articulation of how I’ve felt for a while about Porsche. They are priced to be irrelevant for enthusiasts. They are as relevant as a yacht and therefore hard to get interested in.
I like the comparison in the original post though. I kept a modded M2 honest on the track and...
Yeah, just do what looks good to you. I prefer the 18 with more tyre of the 35s. It reminds me of the NSX examples I saw in Japan with a meaty tyre and TE37s. Totally sold me on smaller wheels with wider and fatter tyres. Euros seem to go more for the painted on tyre look with massive wheels...
I like a meatier tyre look so for me the 18s look best but it’s definitely subjective. Consider also the extra tyre selection the 18s open up not to mention the cheaper cost (where I am anyway).
I've not found any negatives. Maybe the tiniest bit of steering feel lost but I think that's just because I read a comment that said that otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. Honestly the extra grip is noticable. I also like the meatier tyre look and the peace of mind it gives you on bad roads.
I just got back from Japan and saw an FL5 parked with this exhaust. I wasn’t considering it before but it looked perfect to me. Really keen to hear your thoughts on how it sounds.
Definitely. Extra rubber plus the extra width made a noticeable improvement in grip on track.
Off the line I think it’s marginally better particularly in the dry with the v601s but it’s not hugely noticeable.
