Gen 8 was a car of the year and made it 6 years ā06-11. Gen 9 flopped and went 4 ā12-15. While the Civic gets a good chunk of the market share, itās a shrinking market compared to CUVs. Seeing as how itās still competitive and just got a mild refresh for year 3-4 depending on trim, Iād call that...
Agreed.... I think the less edgy aspect makes it more rewarding (and necessary) to drive the car hard. It brought a little more linearity back. I only have flashed back to stock once since TSP for a some AC warranty work in April and I was shocked how linear the car is stock, for being a turbo...
Awesome!
For the basemaps... the extra boost was nice and all but the rev hang disable... the quick spool enable and the partial throttle boost whatever-it-was... really woke up the car. Without the last one... boost kind of seemed programed to build linearly with throttle input... like the...
I have gone WOT several times in 4th at 80+ MPH speeds after running 3rd towards redline and have not ever experienced any slip. I havenāt driven at high speeds (>100 MPH) due to, well, being old/mature and the threat of losing my job from loss of confidence from being reckless out on the road...
While I'll agree with you wholeheartedly based on my own preference and looking at your list:
98-2000 Si
Integra Type-R
Acura NSX
Del Sol
JDM CTR
In a world where people want to drive CUVs... SUVs... Jeeps... and 1/2 ton or larger pickup trucks, your list of a 3 small car with some rear...
I was going to run out and do a update/reflash⦠back when advanced VSA came out... it was warming up and the car wasn't really making so much power that traction was an issue. Now? I'm spinning all over the place in 1st and 2nd.
A question: I don't recall BBG being an option we could adjust...
The Insight gets 52 MPG combined... making it close to meeting 2025 CAFE now.
I read about it when they were released and the way you could tailor the hybrid system to work the way you want was pretty neat.
The 54.5 CAFE target in 2025 might speed thing along if they donāt modify/postpone it, @Design. Agreed, adjusted for inflation, fuel is still quite cheap most places in the US.
A matter of hours to a couple of days depending on the time of day and what day (i.e. weekend/holiday). I got mine same day within a few hours. Usually theyāre pretty quick about it. Iād reach out to them as Iād figure today (Monday) would be a normal business day.
Yeah... it would be a step back. 6 speed Accord 2.0Ts are 22/32.
Ours our 29/37... but around going down to what... 28/36 or 27/35 in '20 with the ratio changes?
Stick a K20C4 in a slightly lighter car and if... for the love of god... they'd raise 6th a little higher, they'd probably be within...
Itād be a tunerās dream and despite the noise about increased cost... I actually donāt think itād change the cost of the Si much at all. I bet if you were buy one new long block vs the other from Honda, their cost would be about the same. This and that would be different. The car would crack...
Not to get overly political but...
I think itās going to depend a lot if Trump rolls back CAFE... and that is going to be based on him getting a 2nd term. If he doesnāt, youāre going to see the cost of Civic and the others in itās completion swell by $1000-1500 due to penalties at their current...
Well, Honda's going to need to swing for the fences to reach 54.5 MPGs for CAFE but, at a 50% improvement in city mileage at least... they're heading the right way and should be getting close.
I messed with the 23# basemap a lot. I've thought of getting the kit TSP has that I thought came with the stage 2.. but then just going to the ethanol enable version of the 23# basemap, dialing down boost under 4000 RPM to flatten the torque spike then removing the 23 to 21# taper up top. Sad...
How's that's Stage 2 treating you? I've thought about going flex fuel and trying it out one of these days as it seems to be the next logical upgrade if staying on the stock turbo. It looks like a mid-range monster. I just kind of got satisfied with stage 1 and haven't messed around with anything...
Y'know. I haven't. When something sort of works, I tend to not mess with it... not that's a better excuse other than I'm too lazy to spent the 10 minutes total it's take to update the program and reflash.
I'll get around to it before what little winter we have here in GA. Right now, I'm having...
I'm sort of the same way. Broke the car in. Bored. Reflashed to 21#, mild enables. Bored. 23# moderate enables. Bored. 23# maxed out then started tweaking. Wanted more top end. TSP Stage 1.
While the heat of the summer really knocks down the power a bit... when it's cool out... it's about...
