Yeah I'm not a fan either. I'm first on the list at my dealership and I fully expect to pass on the first CTR since its likely going to be CW. Honestly I'll take any colour thats not CW or red (already have a red car).
I had originally said keep the carbon fiber for the special edition and you said you disagreed and would rather they have everything in one version though.
Yeah I hear you on the space issue. I don't plan on having kids (wife and I decided we're gonna be the cool aunt and uncle) but would still like to have a practical car if possible since it'll likely be my last ICE car that I'll keep for a crazy long time. But at the end of the day if both the...
That was the logic behind my deposit as well! $500 refundable deposit that if it ends up in my expected price range I'll be thrilled! If not well... Let's just say I might also be on a waitlist for the GR Corolla/GR86 as well hahaha.
The CTR LE achieved the weight loss by losing its heavier, 20-inch wheels for lighter forged aluminum BBS wheels (reducing unsprung mass by 18 pounds). And then an additional 28 pounds of miscellaneous weight through the removal of the rear heating ducts, tonneau cover, wiper blade, and...
Last gen was 3121 lbs and the LE was 3071 lbs.
Personally I would be quite happy with 3150 lbs on the 2023 CTR. I'd rather not see Carbon Fiber on the regular CTR because then it'll just boost the MSRP even higher haha. They can go wild on all the special editions though!
Why put 87 octane in your Si? As per the owners manual:
Unleaded premium gasoline, pump octane number 91 or higher
Use of a lower octane gasoline can cause occasional metallic knocking noise in the engine and will result in decreased engine performance.
Any idea which are the 10 Quebec dealers that might get them? I'm first on the list at my local dealer but I suspect they're a smaller volume dealer and likely not going to receive one first (which honestly I'm okay with waiting, not in a rush to buy).
If you plan on winter driving it as some point anyways might not be a bad idea though. Not like you'll be able to floor it like crazy in the snow so it'll be a good time to get those break in miles done.
I haven't driven the 10th gen CTR, but my 9th gen Si had that 2nd gear crunch maybe twice. I always just assumed it was my own driver error until I saw some people talk about it online. Keep in mind you're always going to hear more about it from the people who have it than those who don't...
I'd love to see that happening, but I could also just see car manufacturers adjust their production of low volume cars (aka CTR) so match their desired low demand, therefore allowing dealerships to keep the mark-ups.
Either way I work in a field that's relatively well sheltered from the market...
Oh yeah it's definitely not a real order. My understanding is dealerships can tell Honda what they would "prefer" to receive as an allocation, but at the end of the day Honda decides what's made and what's sent.
I fully expect to just have the dealership call me each time they get a Type R...
Canadian spec Si didn't lose as many features and weight from 2020 Si sedan was 1341kg (2956lbs) vs 2022 Si sedan 1360kg (2998lbs). Keep in mind the 2022 is longer and wider than the previous model for both sedan and hatchback (not by a huge margin but every bit counts I suppose).
The Canadian...
I'll be shocked if they increased power to 330-350hp. Seeing as the Si went from 205 to 200, I expect they'll do the same with the Type R and just play with the torque curve. Maybe see a small bump from 306 to 310hp due to "improved exhaust flow" or something but I won't hold my breath.
Just spoke with the sales director at my local dealership (I'm in the Montreal area in Canada). Apparently I'd be the first one in line but they're a relatively smaller dealership that expects only 1 per year (maaaaybe 2 every now and then). So far this is how they've described the ordering...
