At 26, I would focus on moving out on my own and purchasing a home. My oldest is 22 and living on his own. He owns his old Accord but living on his own and has money he can save. Buying a home trumps any car. I love my R but toys can wait until you get the fundamentals down 1st.

I don't think people do their homework before they buy a Type R . They get into the hype and just want it but there are sacrifices. It is a raw car and built for a purpose and luxury is not it. Also the K20C1 is a thirsty motor when pushed. This car isn't built for MPG's.

Might want to also consider that winter gas plays a role in fuel economy, winter gas sucks big time. I am getting consistent 22-24 City driving out of my FL5. I also live in the south. I have not noticed any changes in range at fill up.

My R feels good to me going into 6th gear. I've owned many 6th speed Hondas starting with my 03 S2k and 03 Accord 6-6 back in 2003 and this car feels no different for gear changes. The gear box is closer to a S2k than other Hondas though IMO.
