Thanks for this!
I'm definitely interested in the coils / brakes... already have the shifter 😊
Kind of disappointed there's no exhaust, but I guess if most of these are just rebadged parts from other third-party mfgs (RV6, Titan 7, Acuity), it likely wouldn't be a new offering anyway.
The car measures incoming air prior to the blow-off valve. That calculation is used to determine appropriate levels of fuel, etc. If you don't recirculate the air from the blow-off valve, there will be a discrepancy between how much air the car expects to receive (measured pre blow-off valve)...
Try the PRL RMM to start, imo. It's well made, it's relatively inexpensive, and it's an easy install / uninstall. It's not as extreme as other options (with solid bushings), but it gives the car enough little vibration on startup, at idle, and at low rpm to add character without turning it into...
Potentially, and I don't doubt that's usually the case... but there aren't a lot of options out there today, given OP's criteria, if you want a modern chassis / relatively safe vehicle.
"Raw" is a quality most modern manufacturers avoid as much as they can 😭
It's not anti-lag (I don't think anti-lag has been mentioned once in this thread), and emissions is certainly a factor, but it does impact turbo response. Keeping the throttle open helps to maintain boost so response is quicker when you get back on the throttle.
I've had plenty of cars that...
I think the car is keeping the throttle open to maintain boost for the next gear. It annoys me; I'd rather it close, RPMs fall, and I have to build that last bit of boost again after shifting, personally.
Anyone running the newest generation? (My understanding is that they made changes to early FK8 iterations to reduce clunking, etc.)
Obviously they lead to an increase in NVH... my question is: how bad is it?
The block/crank is the same. Cams, pistons, turbo, injectors, etc. are all different. Honda would only be building this version of the engine for ~3,300 cars / year. That's a substantial decrease from what they are doing right now. I think they are producing ~10k CTRs / year? + ~3k ITS? That's a...
It just doesn't seem to make much sense. Honda only has one 2.0 turbo platform. For 2026 and forward, it won't be a viable powerplant in Europe or Japan. Additionally, in killing the TLX, they've cut down on the number of vehicles that utilize it.
I'm actually surprised they're going to produce...
I completely understand preferring the HR shifter or preferring the stiffer centering spring. It's a subjective preference, but your delivery here is a little extreme.
It makes sense to ship the shifter with the "medium" offering and to offer extremes as choices. Setting the "middle road" as...
I mostly agree with this. Blankets should substantially reduce any radiated heat. They will also trap heat in the turbo / DP, and that can lead to longer cooldown times, but it can also cause higher turbo / DP peak temps.
It is possible that insulating the turbo / DP lead to higher temps under...
