This is excellent, thanks for posting it!
I mean, I still want an exhaust for my FL5, don't get me wrong, I grew up with a 1968 GTO for the (only) family car so I have that going for me 🤣
This is helpful, thanks. So far I have wanted to prioritize a predictable suspension response on the street, and had decided to leave the rear sway bar stock until I saw a need for an increased bias towards oversteer, but now I have more to think about. I appreciate the response!
I'm planning...
I'm referring to the sensation that the rear end is slower to respond to change in lateral direction due to what feels (to me) like excessive side-to-side motion, as if bushings were compressing too much, or the rear body were flexing, etc. It's not the kind of shift in suspension load that a...
For what it's worth, I feel more "squish" (delayed lateral/yaw response) during quick transitions in the *rear* of the car than I feel from the front. Planning on starting with a Cusco rear brace, and likely adding Spoon hard-rubber bushings or similar.
Back on point, though, I'll install the...
Oh no, modding our cars to our liking is the downfall of society
I think it's a great idea to do this mod as cleanly as possible. Surprised there haven't been any takers.
And I doubt that the OP is going to miss out on the tens on pounds of downforce on that one high-speed sweeper on...
Just as a heads up, they're deleting posts in the classifieds that don't have anything to do with the item for sale. I see you did have at least one post like this, actually maybe more like twenty or thirty for some reason. Unfortunately for you, you might have to change some of these posts. I'd...
I have not personally, but it meets the factory specs for coolant.
One more to try: Pentosin Pentofrost A3, if that is available -- it meets the specs and is the correct color.
Appears to be 1/4" NPT (tapered pipe thread).

Edit: Or this...
This is a really good point. The conventional wisdom exists for a reason, and the aftermarket is only so big.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the look of the bronze-colored version of those BMW wheels on an FL5, but practically speaking it's not gonna be an easy/cheap/good idea.
I believe that this is a friction-ring fitting in order to hold the filler tube in place. There's probably a way to adapt smaller tubing onto the end of the filler tube in order to fit it into the opening on the top of the transmission.
