  1. Woo wee..who is using thier fl5 as a daily in the midwest today.....?????.hopefully nobody lol.

My FL5 will see winter conditions, but last night and today, its staying tucked away to dodge the hail we’re expected to have.
  2. Shutting off the engine on Type R

The manual shows that the CVT cars can be stopped if the button is pressed while not in P. Don't have one to verify though. :dunno:
  3. Shutting off the engine on Type R

Is there a way to shut off the engine of the manual transmission cars while keeping the audio system alive. For example I get to a destination, but am still on the phone. I want to shut the engine off, but still use CarPlay. Same goes for just wanting to finish a song before leaving the car, but...
  4. Why Bosch?

Does anyone know the feature set that the Bosch ECM opens up over the K20C4’s ECM that drove Honda to use it and only make it available on the Type R’s?
  5. Valet Mode

Is there a straightforward way to limit boost or activate a limp home mode to limit the car’s power as a valet mode of sorts? One of my previous cars had a fuse on the wastegate control solenoid that could be pulled and limit the engine to 6-7psi of boost instead of the full boost of the car...
  6. What is the K20C1’s VTEC switchover point

Awesome, can I assume the 0 is the low lift cam and 1 is the high lift?
  7. What is the K20C1’s VTEC switchover point

Asking out of curiosity at what rpm the exhaust cam switches over. Hoping the folks in here that are tuning these engines know what the OEM software logic is.
  8. What did you pay for your FL5?

Purchased mine this weekend at MSRP from O’Brien Honda. Had to be extremely patient for an allocation, but very easy buying experience once they got one. Worked with Matt.
  9. Waiting for fresh VIN, or purchasing an in-stock model

My guess is that the people waiting for cars to arrive are the ones getting the MSRP deals because they are on a list.
  10. Next-gen Civic Type R will live on - even if as Hybrid or EV (says head engineer Hideki Kakinuma)

Porsche looks like they’re headed that direction with the new 911 GTS. Looks like they are maybe eventually doing a common 3.6 NA for the lower trims and downsizing the Turbo back to 3.6L as well.
  11. Type R’s for sale

    Let’s go 1 for the price of 2! $90k
  12. FL5 Updates Presentation Slide Deck

Would like a copy of this as well if someone has it.
  13. The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

I wrote Honda hand written letters as well. I received a lot of malaise on their part. Considering the only other Honda in my garage is a 160cc single cylinder, it makes me wonder what the ownership experience will be like if/when I get a car. I’m 15 months in on a waitlist. Am I going to see...
  14. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

Even after owning a 911, I’m not going side with Porsche for the GT3 non sense. The only reason they get away with it is because there is a community of people out there that pay for it and allow it. We can speak with our money. I’m curious if you put a poll on this site…how many would be...
  15. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

5% of 1000 odd dealerships is still 50 dealerships. I guess I'm saying "plenty" as in more than oneie twosies. I too have dived down the rabbit hole of calling too many dealers. After all, sometimes the hunt can be as fun as the catch. As someone that was just looking to try something JDM for...
  16. 2023 Civic Type R Waitlist / Deposit / Reservations List - Check in here!

My bigger point of contention is that there are plenty of dealers offering MSRP, but Honda chooses to send multiple vehicles to the bigger dealerships that are the worst offenders for price gouging. There have already been enough 2024 models to have 1 go to each dealer. Instead of sending a car...
  17. The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

I’d make any dealers sitting on a 2023 suffer. They played their game and lost. 2024’s are out. Don’t reward with paying over MSRP for “saving” you a 2023.
