I get that, yeah, I dont see a reason to switch if you already have the Hybrid Racing shifter.

I mean, they're at least giving people the option to change the spring out if they want to go softer or stiffer, but I do think they should have just included the different springs with the shifter for how much it is instead of having it as an additional purchase.

Yeah, update the connection to be connected to a network, either wifi or a hot spot from your phone and not Carplay. Should give you a notification when you do that that Carplay will not work.

Make sure your car is on and not just in accessory mode. I was having the same problem.

Well, I'm dumb. The car has to the in the on position or fully on in order for the wifi or USB to load and detect an update or you'll receive the error or corrupt usb file. Got it to work, says up to date, so no update for me yet.

If you max out the height of the shift knob position, it may be more than the shift boot.

I can only assume the update is currently only for the FL5 and they may be slowly rolling it out to the other trims since I wasn't able to check for an update. I ended up getting an error 6382 trying to connect wirelessly, apparently it was not able to connect with Honda's OTA update system...

I dont know about an extension, but there is a bumper beam spacer you drop in since the bumper beam is just a hollow square beam, probably to make sure there is still structural integrity.
