I had the turning under hard acceleration in lower gears and grinding as well. The only three or four times I can really remember it grinding, I was turning exactly the fashion you wereātrying to not get hit or otherwise avoid traffic.
The turning and accelerating part, I think, may be a...
So you have a little catch in second as well as grinding? How often does a grind? Does it seem to grind under certain conditions? Yes, I would try fluid. But it seems to be a relatively easy change. What about the master cylinder or clutch delay valve? Is it a Civic or an Integra?
If this is indeed driver error, it would be a first for me and Iāve been driving from more than 30 years. Just doesnāt make sense.
I doubt itās one single issue affecting everybody, but the one thing they all *do* have in common is the car and its mechanical engineering.
Iāve never, ever owned a car in my life that would grind if I didnāt shift slowly or wait until itās warm or use a certain number of fingers or purposefully or some magic way. You should shift correctly and the car should change gears. Iāve probably owned 30+ cars and have never had this be a...
As far as I can tell, this hasnāt been successful for a lot of people. Drop off your car, they call you 48 hours later saying they canāt reproduce the issue, etc.
Iām trying the pedal adjustment, the fluid, and then a rear engine mount. If that doesnāt fix it, Iām selling it. Iām not driving a sports carānever mind a Type Rāthat every time I shift into second Iām scared of grinding a gear. Itās just not an enjoyable driving experience.
My FL5 has 6000k miles. Had second gear twice about 3500 miles ago. Very disappointing. Didnāt grind again for 2500 miles so I figured it was fine. Just did it again this morning but Iāve noticed one thing thatās consistent: itās only happened when Iāve unwittingly pulled out in front of someone...
Iāve driven a GT3. The āFWD GT3ā is very obviously subjective but feels appropriate to me. It doesnāt actually feel *like* a GT3 but mimics, to me, some kind of approximation of what Porsche might make if they made a $40k FWD car.
I would *love* that. I donāt want to buy coilovers just to fix an issue that shouldnāt have been there to begin with. Too expensive and shouldnāt be necessary on a car with the pedigree of Type Rs.
I know Iām being repetitive here but I see the possibility of some confusion over terminology...
As Iāve said on other posts, my only issue at all is the ridiculous bounce under hard cornering. Other than that, itās perfect to me. Even Best Motoring didnāt like the bounce and found it faster in Comfort mode (which doesnāt reduce the ābounce).
I *love* the āFWD GT3ā harsh but razor sharp...
